What's the best way to experience Praetorium properly?

So yesterday I had a pretty bad (partial) run of Prae. I'll try not to rant, but in short: I basically rage-quit halfway through after being left so far behind (watching cutscenes) because I didn't want to ruin the climax of the story.

For an hour before using the Duty Finder to enter, I tried using the Party Finder to form a group, stating that a full cutscene run of The Praetorium was the goal. I got absolutely no hits from that, contrary to the advice I've read in other threads.

I should also add that I didn't ask my FC either, since when I'd requested something similar earlier in the day for CM, basically the only answer I got was the "inn" response, so I figured I'd get something similar for Prae. I want to enjoy the climax of the story as it's intended, so watching scenes in the inn afterwards just won't be the same.

Sorry if this came off as a rant, it wasn't intended to.

So I'm wondering, what's the best way to find a group willing to do a full cutscene run of Prae?

Sadly, the only good way to do it is to put up a PF (impossible to fill) or have a REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY nice FC to run you through it. It's a very poorly designed party of the game, but the speed-run roulette is necessary because otherwise it'll be impossible for new players to get ANY DF groups at all.

Did I mention you should find a really nice FC to run you through it?

You really need to do it with friends or people in the FC who will do that for you. To do this you are asking a lot especially for people who have done it a zillion times before to wait through all of the cutscenes. The reason it is speed run in roulette is because of this basically they have done it so many times that they just want to get it over with. It's not exactly new player friendly but it's their time also so if nobody else in the group wants to waste the time nothing you can do about that. There simply isn't enough new players coming through at the same time anymore to build full on story runs. There used to be tons when the game was starting out and people would group to do this but now it's such old content that nobody cares about it.

This isn't the climax of the story by any means even post level 50 the story is still ongoing and will continue into the expansion and new level cap.

Agree completely to both of these.

The problem here is dungeon design itself. The ability to leave someone behind watching the cut scenes is fundamental design flaw. Which thankfully, SE, adapted to and all content since then has placed all extended cut scenes to post dungeon complete position.

First off, you're on one of the least populated servers. That's one reason your PF search didn't go that well. Second, if you wanted to experience it how it was ment to be done, every single person in your party would be wearing AF, i45 accessories, and grand company weapon. But all of those things are unlikely to happen nowadays.

Yes. Back when ARR was new my FC ran it and our 8th was someone in DF that was screaming the entire run to skip cutscenes because we will run out of time if we don't and we finished with about an hour left on the clock after watching them all.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I finally got to experience it (mostly) properly, only missed 1 short boss battle. Fortunately a friend ran it with me, and we lucked out in DF and got a new tank who watched them all too, I'm assuming that's the reason everyone decided to wait for a change. It's a pretty cool dungeon when it goes well ^.^

Hehe. For CM the cutscenes add maybe 10 minutes worth of time. Not even worth to yell about them at people. For Praetorium it's like 30 minutes. The entire thing can be run in 30 minutes as well. That's really the issue. But they do give a 120 min timer so plenty of time to do it. It's just finding people to do it with that's the problem. Glad you got lucky with that in the end.
