Yea it would be much better if costumes like the reindeer and chocobo just forced the tail to not render (like the ghost and snowman costumes).
It looks fine with normal clothing, but on designed "costumes" it looks awkward.

Umm... Yeah, I'm going to go with no.
Back when I was a miqo'te, I finally had to change my glamour because that looked so absolutely painful D: Whoever thought it'd be a good idea to have the tail sticking out four ilms to the left/right of the opening for it?
Edit:
Yeah >.< And especially the liontail-looking one. Even no individual settings for tail colour, how hard would it have been to code the "naked" part of the tail to conform to skincolour and the tuft to haircolour?

Because the tail do a curve to the side at the beginning (that is covered by the gear). Just take off the gear and you will see.
Solution to fix: SE can change the male Miqo'te tail or you switch to female Miqo'te ^^
And this changes the gear design to good design with no tail issues?
Yes, I'd love if they could somehow fix it so all tails match with all gear. Including the noct chestpiece and the chocobo suit.
Changing my gender just for that? No. Not unless I can keep my male emotes and voice, thank you very much. :p
A lion also has short fur all over his body, and the tail is a continuation of said body fur. And the quotation marks around the word naked were there because lion tails aren't actually naked, but compared to the tuft of hair -- and to the other available tails -- it's comparatively naked. Perhaps a poor choice of words, but with around 39 degrees of fever (Celcius/centigrade), it was the best I could come up with at the time and somehow thought it would be apparent what I meant ^^; Clearly that wasn't the case.
And it's not like the miqo'te have lion tails anyway :3 they have miqo'te tails. And if a lion's tail continues main body colour up until the tuft which is often the colour of their mane (or the darkest parts of their mane in case of varying hues - just as we can have highlights in our hair that shouldn't be taken into account for this), then why shouldn't a miqo'te's tail with this appearance continue the main body colour up until the tuft? O.o
I hope so too ^_^
(And on a random note, I first interpreted it as two-tailed races ^^; That'd be awesome, IMO, but... Way too many clipping issues XD)
