    Implementation of a "Tail Toggle"

There are outfits that should hide the tail based on what's actually being worn. There are some outfits that do this correctly like the Ghost outfit which hides the tail, but others that don't and look awkward.

A tail toggle could be implemented, which has pros and cons depending on the viewpoint. I'll start with the cons:

    CONS
    1. People could keep the tail disabled 24/7 hurting race diversity.
    2. It may seem awkward with Tailed Races in revealing outfits without their tail showing.

    PROS
    1. It would single-handedly solve the Tailed Races clipping issues for the outfits that do clip awfully.
    2. It would save the development team time on fixing certain outfits because a toggle would negate any need to actually modify any of the outfits based on this specific issue.
    3. Would allow Tailed Races to enjoy outfits other races wear normally without being awkward.

Like really only those full-body outfits look weird with a tail to me.... pretty much all normal clothing looks fine.

The devs could just, yanno, change it so the tails can't be seen. Already have to modify it per race anyway...

Yea it would be much better if costumes like the reindeer and chocobo just forced the tail to not render (like the ghost and snowman costumes).

It looks fine with normal clothing, but on designed "costumes" it looks awkward.

We should be able to wrap it around our waist like saiyans.

Really they should just auto-hide the tail for outfits like the chocobo costume. I mean, even FFXI does that for mithras wearing the chocobo costume.

The Cons seem to outweigh the Pros, imo.

They just need to be more careful about how they address tails with gear in the future. The "erection tail" seen on some gear should never ever happen.

On a related note, I wish they'd let my ears stick out on more hats too. Rather than just having those awkward ear pocket things all the time.

Some sets do seem to have a tail, when it shouldn't be shown. But I don't believe that we should have a "Tail Toggle".
We're a race with a tail. It is a defining feature of this race. The solution should just be fixing the sets that should logically be hiding our tail.

On the topic of the "ear pockets", it really wouldn't make sense to have a metal helmet, designed to look like it protects your entire head, only to deliberately leave your bare ears flapping in the magic and arrow filled wind.

I would very much like a tail toggle for clothing like this - it looks like you are dressed as a Chocobo that is doing a Poo. >_<

It depends on normal clothing, for example usually it's only the skin tight stuff that doesn't clash, but when you have bulkier clothing, it tends to clip quite a bit.

    Examples:

This is actually far more than just a few outfits or even full-body outfits, anything with depth clashes with the tail. SE has already mentioned they won't change how the tail performs under such gear, and removing the tail from these outfits would amount to a lot of editing.

Excuse the double post, ran out of characters once more.

Yes, the tail is a feature of our race, but how logical is it that we can glamour bikinis and fight The Ultima Weapon? Perhaps in the very same way, "magics" can hide the tail from a lore standpoint.
It would be nice if they fix the outfits, but at the same time, it would amount to a lot of the outfits in the game and would be more work overall.
