    Sadly, that seems rather accurate.

My issue with this is that it's rather ... not even sure what the right word here would be, insulting? I mean, for cryin' out loud, they provided the entire race as a playable option themselves. Miqo'te was not placed in the game by a 3rd party. To go on ignoring their very own design and giving us half-assed/gimped solutions for, what, the whole lifetime of the game is what it's gonna be now? I find that incredibly lazy (no, I don't care how small the team is) and infuriating. And there is a second race coming in with non-human body elements. Is that also going to be ignored in favour of "majority"/speed?...

I have to agree with not having the ability to turn off the tail since it is a part of the character.

A tail toggle could be implemented, which has pros and cons depending on the viewpoint. I'll start with the cons:

    CONS
    1. People could keep the tail disabled 24/7 hurting race diversity.
    2. It may seem awkward with Tailed Races in revealing outfits without their tail showing.
In my opinion it's just a costume. So the character can't help that she needs a hole for her tail. This is just my opinion.

If you ever have had a cat you know you pretty much couldn't wind the tail up in a ball and stick it in the rump of like that chococbo costume the tail has too many bones. It would be possible to put the tail between the legs and wrap it around to the front but that doesn't seem realistic because they you would see this budge in the front.

Miqo'te Tails don't stick straight out, they point downward. If a costume has even the tiniest bit of extra space in the butt area, you can maneuver the tail after a certain point down one leg of the costume.

If your argument against hiding tails with certain gear, such as the Chocobo Suit, is that Miqo'te tails are shaped incorrectly to be hidden that way, you're just wrong. If you were right, there would be zero equipment in the game that hides the tail, but there are items that do hide it. I know, for one, that the Wolfseye Robe hides your tail and only the fake wolf tail is shown. Also, the Evenstar Coat? That can't be my tail, it's far too thin and permanently erect. That has to be a part of the coat itself (and someone's idea of a speciesist joke since they only put it on coats they give to Miqo'tes), and my real tail has to be hidden somewhere.

That's not my argument. Physically it would be possible, however Miqo'te are cat-like people. That tail is an extension of their spine and is essential for their balance. They'd be extremely uncomfortable (and noticeably more clumsy) if they stuffed their tail down a leg or something.
Try sticking your spine down the leg of your jeans later on and tell me how you like it :')

... are you suggesting that chocobo costumes are supposed to be comfortable? Err, have you ever worn one of those fully body mascot suits? I don't think comfort is a pre-requisite here XD

I think you're misunderstanding what I mean by comfort. A full-body mascot suit may be comfortable, but it doesn't completely gimp your ability to say, walk in a straight line without falling over. Animals have tails because those tails are essential for their balance, I can only assume that the Miqo'te are no exception to this. When I say they'd be extremely uncomfortable if they stuffed their tail away somewhere and couldn't use it properly, I don't mean they'd feel a bit constricted, I mean they'd probably feel like they'd lost a limb. If you've ever broken a limb and had it in a plaster cast, you can imagine the kind of discomfort I mean.

As I said earlier, it would really be nice if squeenix would come up with a way to fix the ridiculous clipping issues in some items without gimping the Miqo'te, but it probably won't happen. It'd be too big of an overhaul.

But without a tail, miqotes would look 75% human

Better off adjusting and making armor to accommodate tails. Seeing as tail clipping is one of the primary reasons I switched back to Hyur, and the fact that SE adjusting most armor to suit tails is unlikely, I support this though. I feel for you kitty cats.
