Novus and Nexus uses the same Sphere Scroll?

My Novus is about to upgrade to Nexus but I still have a Sphere Scroll to finish and chosen the Sphere Scroll Novus from the NPC. (For modifying the stats).

What happen if I upgraded to Nexus, would the Sphere Scroll (Novus version) be invalidated to use?

This confused me because from the NPC quest for the relic shows 2 option for Sphere Scroll. One for Novus and one for Nexus, I thought the reason they split it because they got to have significant differences.

if you are asking what i think you are, no the sphere scroll doesnt get used when upgrading to nexus. if you want to change stats tho, you need an empty sphere scroll.

They are not the same, and yes you will not be able to use a Novus scroll on a Nexus so make sure to apply the scroll you have before you upgrade (assuming you have made changes to the stats). If you haven't then don't worry, you can just discard the Novus scroll and generate a new one from the Nexus. Basically a Novus scroll has 75 materia slots where a Nexus scroll will have 78 slots (this is auto-scaled though, you don't need three extra materia for the Nexus). This is the reason there are two different options for scrolls.

Keep in mind that there is no real reason to have a pending scroll anyway as it costs nothing to apply and generate scrolls.

Edit: Oh yeah as pointed out it does cost tomes to generate a scroll. Had forgotten this as the cost seems so insignificant in the grand scheme. The first paragraph still applies though.

Not sure what you mean here, as it costs 250 soldiery tomes per ink to buy a new sphere scroll, and you need 3 ink to get a scroll. If they wanted to change stats they'd need one. (plus new materia) Now granted it doesnt look like the OP is wanting to change stats, but what you said sounds misleading.

No, they use the same exact sphere scroll. I tested this with my own relic. I generated a sphere scroll to modify the stats on my Bravura Novus (have the NPC give me a filled up sphere scroll that I can remove stats from and replace with new ones). I then upgraded it to a Nexus without turning in the sphere scroll. After I upgraded to the Bravura Nexus, I turned in the filled sphere scroll that was generated from my Novus to modify the stats on my Nexus. I was not required to buy a new sphere scroll, even though I had upgraded to a Nexus.

This is completely wrong and bad information. There is only one type of scroll, the 75 point scroll. You're correct in that this scroll will get scaled differently depending on what you're applying it to (75 points for novus, up to 78 points for nexus, up to 84 points for zodiac). However, each version takes the same exact 75 point scroll.

Thanks a lot, and that's great to hear. At least someone experienced with one.

    Yes, listen to Giantbane.

The same sphere scroll is/can be used for zodiac weapon modification as well. I did this myself. I finished my Thyrus Novus in a hurry so i could start farming light, all the while working on a respec sphere scroll. I finished the respec scroll shortly after upgrading to Nirvana, applied the scroll, and the stats changed and scaled accordingly.
