Grand Company - Bard - Just hit 50

Any advice would be appreciated. I just came back after being gone a year. I finished getting my first toon (Bard) to fifty. I have spent all of my stuff to get promoted several times with the flames. I keep finding 1+ year old forums saying that I should have gone another route for better Bard gear. At this point is it worth switching to another company and starting a fresh grind or are the gear differences so minor, with higher level dungeon gear easily obtainable that it doesn't really matter?

The best gear is no longer obtained through grand company seals. Which grand company you are in is now for aeshetic (and PvP) reasons only. The way to begin your gear grind now that you have returned is to build up as much soldiery as possible (low lvl dungeon roulette and main scenario roulette are both great ways) and then spend the soldiery on Bard gear in Mor Dhona. This will get you ilvl100 gear and will prepare you for the Syrcus Tower and World of Darkness 24 man Raids which give you access to ilvl110 and 120 gear respectively. While doing this, it is good to do allof the dungeons so that you can unlock hard mode roulette and expert roulette. These give lots of poetics, which can be traded for ilvl 120 and 130 gear.
