I've been playing since launch and it seems that over the patches things are getting ignored or over looked on being fix. With 3.0 right around the corner now I think its the best time to address my concern with the Current Duty Finder. The systems is really nice to have and makes doing content with everyone much easier, but there are things that need to be fixed sooner then later.
The first, which everyone has asked for, Queue with Companion in Party. I fear that SE will allow us new companions or NPC adventurers in the Future only adding to the aggravation of many not using cause it locks us from DF.
DF was also suppose to allow us to change jobs and complete other content while waiting on timer as not to get bored, or slow down. Many times have I had my timer pop in the middle of a cut scene or long dialog portion of a quest forcing me to Skip the Story or abandon the DF. Even recently was stuck on a Fate NMs Hate List without possibility to change Job. The Commencement of Duty Finder should not be halted or impeded by over-world activities. The Commence button alone should allow your Job to be changed and take you to content you have waited for. Some might say that the DF entry to content is finicky, which it is, the commence should not force your job change until you are loaded into content so that it other players are AFK or need to withdraw it doesn't affect your current play.
Alliance system needs a complete overhaul which is actually pretty simple but complex problem with changing the DF. Being forced to make up a full 24 man Alliance to only do 3 piece of Content which is Filler for the Binding Coils of Bahamut is unacceptable to me. The DF system should understand any number of players in your current Alliance and fill spaces with Parties, Solo, Duo, and Trio PT set up to complete the 24 needed.
Future content, Yoshi-P has been talking about allowing adventurers back into Lower Level dungeons, with a group of NPC we can level and grow. That to me sounds pretty awesome, but I don't want it to become a completely Solo only content. MMO are about playing with each other and friends. The system needs to be designed to allow up to 3 Humans and 1 NPC or 2 Humans and 2 NPC. I dont know how they can make who's NPC come but easiest fix is the NPC of PT Leader are used to fill in party Gaps. Making a whole interface for setting NPC for each player seem overboard but I'm not against that either.
Allowing players to use DF to Queue on Multiple Jobs for leveling as 3.0 will be introducing new jobs into game. This change will be most complex and I cant offer any ideas on how to change, except more re-writes to DF current system. Any changes made to the Current DF System to allow all of us to play the game we like better and for freely with each other is great. I'm sure some will have there own issues with the system and some don't see what I have stated as problems. Thanks for reading.
TL;DR - The current Duty Finder System needs changes made to allow for player to have more freedom when going through content. Alliance system needs to work in DF w/o pre-made 24 man builds. Future content needs to be considered for design of system to allow for more the solo play in old content. Queue on Multiple Jobs.
