Why Speed Pulls?

Not like it's hard to shield lob mobs to pick em up, and when u have them gathered spam flash to zero mp, and riot blade ur mp back for next pull. It's complete overkill to be maintaining agro on mobs with rage of halone combo, and it's a waste of potential dps to make AOE classes attack 1v1.

Nobody is forcing you to speed run, just don't be surprised if you end up getting kicked if the majority of the group wants to play their way and you don't comply.

I never said it was hard. Do you think I don't know that? I am perfectly capable of doing large pulls. It is just annoying. So what if it is overkill? Is this a race? Do we NEED to optimize our DPS? Nope.

If the tank or healer disagrees to a speed run, it should not happen end of story. DPS wanna pull more mobs to a tank? Let. Them. Die. If they don't like it? They can leave... simple.

Some people do dungeons but don't enjoy them and want to get out of there as soon as they can. I will never uderstand them but eh.

I've been farming a lot of dungeons lately for stuff to desynth and have come across a lot of tanks. Most of them aren't really good at speedrunning but want to do it anyway, very few are good at them, and a bunch doesn't speedrun at all. Personally I just adapt to whatever the tank is comfortable with, I don't mind either way, but I've seen a lot more people getting angry at the tank for not picking up enough than the opposite. But if they turn nasty, I just initiate a vote kick and they are dismissed pretty quickly.

I think the funniest thing is that people will assume I think it's too hard to speed run hence the reason I don't want to do it. PEOPLE, I AM JUST NOT IN A HURRY LIKE ALL OF YOU.

The problem is not chaining 2 packs of mobs together or pulling a single mob to the next pack. IT IS LITERALLY PULLING THE ENTIRE TRASH PACKS FROM 1 BOSS TO ANOTHER. WHY SO MANY?! Not only is it almost useless, its annoying and people literally go as far as kicking or insulting others for NOT DOING IT.

When I queue as tank I'm prepared to either speed run or take it slow depending on party composition, gear, and what the majority wants. If the other three players want a speed run, I'm not going to pull three mobs at a time when I know I'm perfectly capable of tanking everything up to the first boss in a huge pile for those two pyromaniacs black mages.

This is what I used to do, until I got enough of it. Sometimes I don't feel like speed pulling like crazy. However, it seems lately it has been increasing and especially when I am trying to farm the steps for my Zodiac. I don't even try to deal with it anymore. You are in a hurry? Good, now find another tank.

And to be perfectly frank, if you're going to pull the "its my money I play how i want!" you're every bit as selfish and detrimental to this game as the people complaining to speed run when its clear others do not want too.

Nope, I do not do that. I just leave the group when I don't want to deal with it. They can find another tank, that's not a toxic behavior. What would be a toxic behavior is forcing your habits on others. I don't force my habits on others. I always think of the team before me, however, when the team does not care about what I think or want to do, why should I comply to such selfishness?

If you get truly dickish people, Well, yah, Leave. Its a case by case situation, but just blanketing it all with "I'm going to pull slow, f**k everyone" is what I'm saying is a negative, and some of your posts, and mostly just the bad advice you're being given here, has been to "f**k everyone do what you want", and I don't think you should follow that advice.

You'll often times find talking to people in the dungeon goes a long way to building a solid understanding between your team an can be fun getting to know people. Its not hard to be social or to compromise... you just gotta take the first step. And this approach has its own rewards.

Just do your best to bring a peaceful resolution to speeding or not, if you can't, Its sad, but i would say as long as you at least attempted to compromise or discuss it, you've got my approval to just leave them or do whatever you want. If all reasonable course fails, you're left with one inevitability. You are the tank, and you have the power. Sometimes it won't be worth the hassle to deal with people, and i understand that. Moving on is perfectly acceptable.

My take away from this is simply, do your best to come to an understanding, don't default to "fk it" like the advice some people have given you here.

Works both ways, much like they are "forcing" you to speedpull, you are "forcing" them to slow down - and what bullshit when you say you think of the team when clearly you place yourself above them and dont give a crap about what they think.

But you are right, you dont have to comply to such "selfishness" as they dont have to comply to yours, just leave like you said and quit crying about it.
