    'Attempting to run as Administrator'.

Every so often when running the game, my UAC pops up and warns me that the program is attempting to run as Administrator. It's not -every- time, closer to every other time I run the client, even after a shut-down cycle. I would assume that the game does not need Administrator privileges, so why would it be trying to run as Admin and how could I make it stop?

You cannot stop it, but you can modify the notifications. UAC is beyond obnoxious, so I suggest disabling it.

You can also set the program to run as an administrator at the same time.

Sorry but I have to disagree with Syx. Disabling UAC will weaken your entire system security (anything that wants admin can just run as admin without you even knowing it happened!) and I personally believe it'd be better to fix (or live with?) the few instances of it popping up rather than turning it off.

Do you launch the game from Steam? I was finding that when I ran it from Steam it would also pop up with UAC alert because Steam would try to run the first time setup (DirectX etc) everytime it ran even though it would realise as soon as it tried to run those setups that they weren't actually needed.

If that is the case I'll dig out what I did to stop Steam running first time setup each time (sorry I can't remember off top of my head), but other than that, you can just create a new shortcut to the "FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ffxivboot.exe" launcher and run it direct/not from within Steam if that's more helpful. It'll be under your Steam folder and SteamApps unless you installed it somewhere differently.

Nope, direct install and run from the Launcher. I don't want to disable the UAC for just those reasons, it compromises system security. What boggles me about it is how it only happens sometimes. If it was consistent, then I would just deal with it, but it only happens roughly every other time which sits as weird in my mind.
