    If it is true that a new relic path comes with expansion, I'll check that.
    Yep this relic always ugradable, but the path from vanilla relic to latest, become more and more difficult to follow for a new player, with every patch adding steps to that. On vanilla XIV we were able to get 2nd best weapon with a little quest chain, and "just" killing the first three hard primals. Said "just" because at that time, iLevel made that kills an achievement. But anyway doable in a fraction of the time a new player have to put today to get same result, aka to get one of the top 10 best weapons.
