Thing is, that didn't prevent botting at all in 1.0. It was still quite prevalent, just not as much as today because of how unpopular/unsuccessful the game was.
I have to agree with this. There is alot of gil moving around you just need to find it!I would dispute that. My friend is heavy into crafting and makes millions with very little effort (Mining being his main source). You just have to watch the market. To say this game has no economy is very blind and shortsighted. It has one. Its just always is major flux. It works for people who know how to watch it and take advantage.
I didn't say there wasn't an economy I said there's no real economy. I mainly craft and I have several friends that mainly craft and the money coming in is slow compared to other MMOs. That's because everyone can do everything and everyone can get everything. (That's sellable anyway). So there's a lot of supply with not much demand. I enjoy making money in every mmo, but here its just extremely slow.I would dispute that. My friend is heavy into crafting and makes millions with very little effort (Mining being his main source). than you guys are selling the wrong things. If i want to make gil I can make alot in a day and everything sells pretty fast. Sometimes even instantly. Everyone cant do everything.. not everyone lvled all classes /gathering. But if you try and sell in a flooded market than yea your gonna have a bad time. Change it up do some math and make that gil.I didn't say there wasn't an economy I said there's no real economy. I don't do it any more cause I noticed there's nothing to buy. But obviously selling what everyone else is selling while people undercut like crazy is a bad idea. Its still a slow stream compared to what we are used too. We're used to rare Mats that aren't handed to everyone just for showing up. Going to take down hard bosses, getting phat lootz. But eh, I still just don't see why people cheat at this game of all games. *Shrugs*
Again I dispute that. There is a LOT of demand for MATERIALS on the market boards. That may be a problem on Balmung and not anywhere else with it being the most populated server that may be why your having problems. It is NOT a problem on Behemoth as of yet. and if it hasn't yet I doubt it will be.I didn't say there wasn't an economy I said there's no real economy. What can I say, I've reported bots months ago and all this time they were still happily botting away. It's absolutely disgusting and shameful to see botting done so obviously and consistently, with impunity, in a pay to play title such as this. I refuse to use things like these because cheating in an online environment is sickening, but that doesn't keep others from doing it and gaining a huge advantage while SE keeps ignoring reports. With how clunky the reporting system is, I have all but stopped using it.
A few weeks ago, I saw a bot from an FC. I messaged the FC's leader about it, and a few minutes later, that bot was kicked from the FC. I wish SE's paid employees managed to do something about bots over the course of a few weeks, if not minutes, at least.
Sadly, in this game, cheating of all kinds seems to be worthwhile, for those who choose to do it. It'll make some people hate you, but you'll most likely get away with it. It's a paradise for jerks.

The real question shod be why do you not care. It gives another player an advantage that does affect me. It affects my ability to be competitive because I have to deal with unfair competition. People pushing one button can farm 3-4 million Gil a night then use that money to pay a group that farm coils for ease of gearing up can possibly steal spots from people who manually try to grind out gear.

everything is working as intended.Wanna leave an instane without 30min penalty? Just DC or afk and get vote-kicked. File a report, but they dont do much good
