Actually, the Garleans using light as a weapon does makes sense. They DO believe that what they are doing is right and needed to prevent The End of The World As We Know It ©.
Mmhmm. Personally, I think it just fits best out of all the avatars, unless they introduce new ones specific to FFXIV. Which doesn't really seem like something they would do.
Carbuncle or Odin could possibly fit, but I doubt it. Odin wouldn't make any sense at all since the Garleans are trying to prevent the destruction of the world presumably.
Shiva is most likely the summon for the Gigas (Who have been alluded to in-game to an extent), and Ramuh is probably the Sylph's since their flag has a lightning bolt on it. So I doubt the Garleans would be able to summon either of them.
are the garleans trying to summon? I thought they were attempting to destroy the beastmen and they're gods....Spoilers
Alexander is probably the Primal that the Garleans are currently trying to summon. Makes the most sense, what with their affinity for technology. Wouldn't be surprised if they pull an FFXI, and the spirit of the Alexander avatar infuses himself with a Garlean construct - either willingly or unwillingly - to fight for them.
I know they are doing stuff with crystals right..... so does that tie in with summoning of a primal?
as for who the primal will be.... I'm gonna agree probably titan, but I wouldn't mind it being another (titan isn't my fav)
as for the coverart... I admit it looks alot like Garuda.... but I still don't see her being on the cover over more known summons.....but it looks alot like her....
It's stated directly in the Limsa-lominsa "Into the Dark" quest for the Dzemael Darkhold. After you complete the instance portion and return to the Owl's Nest, the NPC talks about how the Imperials are busy draining crystals for Ceruleum (The power-source for their magitek), but that they're also attempting to use the Ceruleum to summon their own primal.
well sorry for the question... not high enough rank for quest so obviously I wouldn't know ^ ^... but thanks for the answer...It's stated directly in the Limsa-lominsa "Into the Dark" quest for the Dzemael Darkhold. I totally forgot about that trailer.
Is this part of the trailer in the game yet? Titan Screenshot http://bit.ly/qbq2HL

What about Bahamut!? Was always my favorite summon from the earlier FFs. I'm not sure how they'd incorporate him now tho cause he wasn't exactly an avatar in XI. Seemed more jus like a king of the wyrms. Even though they made for exciting battles in XI (Baha, Tia, Faf, Nidd) I'd prefer them going back to giving us the power to summon Bahamut ourselves. We can still fight the rest of the wyrm fam!
Sure but the question was which primal will we get to fight in patch 1.20. IF Bahamut becomes a fightable avatar, it won't be before a long time. Garuda or Titan are the obvious choices if we base ourselves on what little story we have, Garuda being ahead of Titan for now even if she isn't in the .dat.What about Bahamut!? If they add more "natural" content into the game, i'd like to see the wyrm flying in the sky, and when their pop timer is on, we can be able to see them land on the surface.
As for Bahamuth we need a laboratory, from garleand empire if they're going to release their map one day, i'd like to have a "city" map with the size of Thanaland ! Imagine you can fully travel Midgard
Their (garleand) avatars are more Odin than Alexander for me(their armor are like Odin).

He was 1 of the 5 great avatars and you was allow to use them all beside him and phoenix. What about Bahamut!? Was always my favorite summon from the earlier FFs.
