Incorrect Password and Security Question

I was playing the game with my friend last night and then we logged off to go to bed and went to go log on again this morning, I logged on fine, but he was given the message that his password was incorrect. He tried it several times, and then tried resetting it, and put in his security question answer, and was told that his security question answer was incorrect. No matter where he tries to log in, it tells him his password and security question are incorrect, despite the fact that he was just playing last night. He put in a ticket but has had no response so far. I am posting on the forums as he is unable to do so himself.

Sorry, but unfortunately the forums are more for players helping other players and this isn't something that can be solved on the forums as it needs SE assistance so he'll need to unfortunately wait for them to reply or call them.

Although there a are a few posts by official staff here, they're more to do with gameplay features and occasionally acknowledging bugs and passing them on, but no actual account queries though.

Hey, I just came out of a similar problem.

I came on today and suddenly I had "Wrong Password" (Vague, right?) - upon password reset, it was having colossal issues with me putting in the one time password, saying it couldn't be entirely numbers and stuff like that. Eventually I got my emergency removal code and slammed that in - it accepted my original password and got rid of the one time without any issues whatsoever and bam, I'm in the game.

If he is using the one time password, and he can get rid of the one time password, tell him to try it. I don't know what this has happened or what the hell caused it, but that's how I got around it for the time being.

Of note, the device I was using for my one-time password is a HTC Wildfire.

I would like to chime since I had a similar problem just a few minutes ago.

I had the same problem as OP and I came to the same conclusion as Ghift and tried removing the one time password. I failed however, since the one time password removal was giving the same nonsense too so that left me scratching my head. So, I decided to double check my one time password app and tried to bring up the settings (press back from the password screen and press menu). There I pressed the synchronize button. My time difference stat went from 0 to -XXXX (numbers). Then I tried logging into both the game and mog station and boom. I got in. Problem solved. It seems like my phone's app launcher seems to have changed its clock on its own but my system clock on my samsung note is still correct. I tried to correct the launcher's clock but it seems to be ignoring me. But eh, whatever.

I'd like to note however, that my one time password emergency removal code seems to have changed so you might want to double check and rewrite down these, just in case (keep both old and new I say).
