I'd like to recommend surveys. Possibly email about the pros and the cons of the game. Something to establish the stronger points and the weaker points. Something simple like:

-name as many bad things about the game as you like
-please explain
-What would you suggest we do about them

-name as many good things about the game as you like
-from 1 to 10 what is your general appreciation of the game
-Would you recommend this game to a friend
-why
-Did you like last patch?
-What would you like in an upcomming patch?

For statistics purpose you might want to digitalise as much as possible the choices with an added value of other. Toss the whole thing in a database and then do querries. Update once in a while...

Very easy to programm. I'd do it for free if you want. Gimme 2 hours tops.

Agreed. I've said countless times they should do a weekly poll about something they are working on. We are all very disconnected from the dev process Monthly or bi-monthly updates are not cutting it we should be getting weekly updates and giving weekly feedback. It will save them time and money from working on stuff that's not important or can wait. Like why almost a year later do we not have the party search feature from 11? That should be top tier high priority so people can play together.

It was said many times that they are aware of the complaints regarding the party tool we have and that they will address it in the future but that the reason they cannot add a party search feature like FFXI or a /sea command is related to how the server receives player informations, which they need to fix 1st before.

They have so many things to fix and they are working hard to fix them all but they can only do so much at a time. Just be patient, it will all be awsome once it's done. Enjoy the beta until then.

Edit: realized that I was off topic.. so on topic: Yes I think a weekly survey, something that could be web-based and accessible through lodestone would be a nice way to get additional feedback.

I do hope to see more player polls and i think we will but they gotta get done with all the stuff that was voted on with the last one as bad as that sounds, but even then i think they do a good job getting info just from the forums alone.
