New Ponytail Hairstyle coming in 3.0! (All Races apparently)

You guys beat me to it! (Though to be fair, we were all flying back from the SE offices in Tokyo today when this was posted...)

For everyone's reference, here's what Takeo Suzuki had to say!

Takeo Suzuki here, the lead designer of FFXIV.

It's not exactly what Mawashi had requested, but we are actually working on a ponytail hairstyle to be released in 3.0. This seemed like a great opportunity to offer you all a sneak peek!



By the way, we're planning on making it so all female characters, regardless of race, can utilize this hairstyle!

What do you guys think? I know we've often received a lot of requests for this type of hairstyle!

To be fair Miqo'te females had a ponytail cut from the very start, about of the same length (this one will just have smaller bangs and a curlier tail)



What I'm really looking forward to is the low ponytail from Last Remnant (and yay, for both genders!). That will be something new!

True, I had forgotten that, despite using if the 1st six months I played....lol

This one though has smaller side bangs, a curlier tail along with front bangs and it is a high ponytail vs the existing one where the forehead is clear of bangs and the ponytail is almost flush with the head at the back.

I should probably ammend my post as follows;

lol, true, for me it depends on how their skin looks, whether I like the tail and what horn options there are. My version of Kosmos will more than likely remain a kitty though, she's been this way since the game I played before FFXIV.

Looks very promising, although I admit I greatly fear it will have clipping issues that get ignored in the sad vein of quantity over quality.

You can't fix clipping on one hair style alone, and it would take a prtty core change to character rendering, chracter and gear models for every race, and toss in the additional client side processing to prevent clipping....I don't think that's going to happen for a hair style.
