tank is instantPeople keep talking about long queue times but over the course of the last month and a half I took 3 chars to level 50, a bard, a scholar and a monk and I really didn't think 15-30 minutes was that bad? I just did some fates while waiting and I leveled up really dang fast. I mean I guess if you're sitting there watching the Time Expired under Duty Status it would be awful :P
on everything but ex primals, st, and wod

Yeah I truly understand the BIG issue when it comes to level 50 "veteran" players thinking they are so entitled to speed run lower level dungeons and abusing other people. Especially if you get those "entitled tanks" that acts like everyone has to run to their speed, but also remember, if the other three players refuse to play the speed run game, the tank cannot get anything done. And this waste their time, if they leave, they get penalty, which further makes things worse because he will not get it. The BEST way to counter this? IF you leave duty finder, you loose all the bonus of the day, so you can only get the daily roulette but can no longer spam the "adventure in need" bonus. Though I can see some players will troll to get vote to dismiss...
NA players are notorious with their truly horrendous reputation for being rude, impatient, and ignorant "expletive". The solution, which is far from perfect, is to move to Japanese server with international players such as Tonberry. Find english speakers FC, and your problem is solved. The difference is NIGHT and DAY, once you are spoiled rotten with the quality of players from Japanese servers, you will never ever ever want to go back to NA servers ever again, period. Unless you have a very tight knit group there that you can team up constantly.
The great thing about Japanese servers: No gill seller spams, EVER... 90% of the duty finder players know what they suppose to do - the majority of end gamers do not really speed run, they do steady pull, it does not take them long to figure out if the healer can do speed run or not. Usually most of their tanks will adjust their pull speed accordingly - they realize wiping is not speeding up their run. Most endgame dungeons are 20-25 mnts, 15 mnts if your group willing to speed run it. Lower level dungeon is around 30 mnts or less (compared to 40-50 mnts in NA servers). If you are in smaller japanese server, be happy, you can always do HUNT with very few trolls ruining it for you. Prices are DIRT cheap on a lot of stuffs, aka no RMT jacking prices up.

I would kill to be able to run difficult end game content without epeen attitudes everywhere and player entitlement issues that are borderline sadistic... or the overwhelming amount of players who just can't do the content at all due to severely lacking skill that can never be improved upon no matter how much practice you do with them (I ain't referring to noobs either). At least on my server these issues are creating so much 'unfun' for me that I've been debating on letting sub expire and moving on.

Personally a warrior 'main', soldiery is useless to me right now because I'm on the novus stage and all my other classes are i110+. I'd like more gil but I'm in no real rush to get it and to me, the possible rng on time spent is NOT worth 7500 gil. Maybe other tanks crave those soldiery tomes but I would rather see fulfilling 'adventurer in need' be turned into a real avenue of money making. I can use the soldiery tomes to exchange for items to sell but it's too economy and demand influenced for me to make it a real 'job'. Not in the chore definition mind you, I meant it as an adventurer taking up a on a job the game provides. Like a mercenary.
I get that they don't want to make the gil reward too high and the other avenues that people use for making money like crafting, mining, logging, fishing, spirit bonding are technically just gil changing hands. What about being an 'adventurer in need' though? Would people be up for a player paid bounty system enforced by the system? Players paying the roulette to entice tanks to join the queue? It still creates the same problem of tanks wanting to speed run the dungeons and if they add a review and revoke system, players paying the roulette can grieve tanks with charge backs. Plus new players shouldn't exactly be required to pay up just to level up their first couple classes.
Then again, what if SE is willing to pay for the players? They can separate players seeking the sold bonus and players seeking the gil reward by making the gil bonus incremental. Keep the current rewards the same but if they go in again for repeats on the same day, the adventurer in need bonus increases until it caps and resets on the daily reset. Like, 7500 gil first time entry of the day, 15k second time, 30k third time then it caps there. But this would actually intensify the speed run tank problem even if it eases up queues. I don't actually have any idea on how to 'fix' that atm but I don't believe treating tanks like a 2nd class citizen (like the lowering tank loot drop rate by a significant amount like some people would suggest) would help. If anything I haven't gone into low level roulette as a lvl 50 tank for the rewards in months because of how unrewarding it is.

Try making a new character in Tonberry or Belias. Tonberry will be perfect for you, it is very international with most shout is in English. Prices are stable. NO SPAM ever!! LOTS of medium size FC that are english speakers, plenty of Australian players. And my god, running DF is so much joy here... Smooth, no drama, and BIG BIG BIG difference. Look me up in Belias, or Coco Roca in Tonberry if you need english speaker FC![]()
Try it, it won't take long to level up to 50. NA servers for me is not worth the aggravating. I want to log and play in peace, not in a shouting match with dumb DPS who cannot understand that "you must kill the adds" and when it is red circle, MOVE... I can see that raiding for Coil can be an issue to duty finder, but if you find english speaker FC that does a lot of raid, this should not be a problem. Also if you know the mechanic and know what to do, there is really not much to talk about. But the attitude is BIG BIG BIG difference, people say hello, they bow, they wave goodbye, etc... Amerika servers are more of "don't give a shit" about you, it's all about me...

I hope they add those AI Npc fast, I am one of the many players who was stupid enough to level both healers and tanks first, which meant that there was no quests left for my dps classes. Now I am leveling the remaining dps classes and having to wait 30 to 60 minutes just to do a low level dungeon is insane.
Atleast make it so having the Chocobo out will not interfer with the Duty Finder?
50~ minutes for Cutter's Cry, immediately have 2 people quit before the dungeon even begins.
FATE grinding forever, and ever.

It would need a real flexible system to solve that problem.
One idea:
If too many DPS are in the queue, party size would automatically increased to 5, with 3 DPS.
All mobs and bosses in the dungeon would have 30% more HP then.
this could basically work for up to 8 people, 1 tank, 1 healer and 6 DPS and the game adjusts the enemy HP accordingly.

You gotta realize, most players do level DPS only, forever and ever. This is like thousand times worse in NA servers, where majority of players abuse any new tanks or healer, forcing them to either quit the game, stop doing any dungeons or end up leveling another DPS jobs which further makes things worse. Next time you go to dungeons, make sure to say good things about your tank and healer, assuming they deserve it, and give them your recommendation.
I totally agree with this post, even though DPS need commendation and I give it to them as they are often underestimated and not often considered to their true value, in my opinion. You gotta realize, most players do level DPS only, forever and ever.
