    Depends on changes. We haven't seen Ramuh or Shiva Egis or how they will be implemented into the game. It's possible they took a certain someones idea to change the appearance when Rouse is used to be a balance of the community and developers. It sucks they didn't even touch battle content at PAX or that we are still left in limbo on what Heavensward means to current jobs and classes. Building hype is fine and all but 3 months away is enough time to give us a taste of what is to come.

    Edit: I did think about the appearance though. If they made Ifrit look just like the primal but the size of a lalafel it would be laughable. If they made Ifrit "primal" the size of a FFXI summon, it could get in the way of players view of AoE, more so if you have 2 or more SMN in the party.

    I've watched the PAX game footage at least 6 times, frame by frame. I definitely did not notice any new skills at all for any of the classes or any new summons. I believe they really wanted to focus on the new classes and areas to entice new players. They also didn't give a whole lot of information on the new classes either (literally the biggest spoiler they gave for anything class related was that DK uses MP).

    They have 3 months until HW launches, I'm sure they have at least a couple more teasers up their sleeve. I'm sure our reactions feed their sadism.

    I given up hope on seeing any buffs to SMN on the next patch cause I honestly believe they won't have any changes, or even at all, until Heavensward. There's been talks about how they wanna change how spell speed works and I don't see them separating SMN and SCH, since people will have to relearn a completely reworked class. They would have (or maybe should have) done it, like more than a year ago, but it feels like it's already too late to make a huge change with how far this game is now.

    We, SMN mains, would just have to deal with how we are now for about 3 months... /sigh

    I will be EXTREMELY disappointed if this is what ramuh egi looks like. That would be incredibly lazy of the art team. I guess it's more in the right direction of what an egi should look like but that texture is ugly. The purple is supposed to be electricity no? It doesn't move. If they redid the model so that the electricity was moving I would be ok with it.

    Why not making Summoner "mounting" on the primal? (something similar to FFX). Each Primal has its own skill set :3

    They have been. It's just that 3.0 took priority over trying to re-balance an already dysfunctional Job.

    The Summoner Job is a rushed attempt at trying to add an additional Job into the game, and is really no more than DPS Scholar with variant pets. I'd rather they re-hauled the Job (e.g. split it from Scholar, made Spell Speed much more purposeful, increased sustained and burst damage) than make minor tweaks to a few spells, that may or may not even be in around when the expansion hits.

    All classes/ jobs, in MMO's, have their 'ups and downs' over the course or their respective games. Let them address the core issues rather than superficial one's.

    Scaling would be an issue: non-lalafel characters would need rather large summons to 'mount'. Imagine how big they'd have to be for a Roe, then ask yourself if you'd want a giant summon obstructing your view in boss fights.

    Just because this is the model for the primal fight adds, doesn't mean this is what the egi's will look like. The grey arbiter model has been in the game data since 2.0 release. I remember seeing it shortly after the servers went live. As I said, it's closer to what I think the egi's should look like but the grey arbiter looks very unfinished. It's like the art team came up with the concept for it, and then just never finished it.

    "Listening" doesn't mean agreeing. Sorry kind of a tangent but I hate it when people say, "You aren't listening to me." No... I am listening to you, I fully understand your argument and your concern and I still feel that you are wrong and/or I don't care.

    Back to your schedule legitimate grievance with the summoner class.

    I quit summoner for rogue/ninja. It was just so boring, rotating through a bunch of dots, spamming ruin in the meanwhile, activating fester and pet buffs when they were up. There's no skill to it, no depth.
    I think a lot of summoner player switched to ninja. I barely see any summoner players left on my server. It's been two weeks since I saw one in a DF run.

    It's a shame, because I like the "fluff" of summoner. The books as weapons, the armor aesthetics, I don't have any qualms with how egi's look.
    I just wish they copied WoW's demonology warlock rather than an affliction warlock.
