Scholar is like a modified Necromancer with Shield Healing and some DPS. According to the Summoner job trainer Y'mhitra Summoner should be more like a modified Elementalist. Elemtalist focus the Elements into a physical form and without their Elemental minion they are a weak mage. Summoner's focus the Energy of the Primals into Egis and without their Egi they should be a weaker than the Scholar.
