Seeing jobs in a dungeon instance does not equate to amount of jobs in the population. I run dungeons as what I feel like using at that time which are often not my highest geared. It does not mean I stopped playing my mains.

It's not just in DF's, it's everywhere. Believe me, I checked. Running around in the cities, residential districts, Revenant's Toll, Gold Saucer,...
Barely seeing any summoners left.

Im from Odin too and for this Server Atticon is right, SMN is the less populated class here.
Just because someone is not ON smn, doesnt mean they aren't a smn. This isnt FF11 where you have to go to a moogle to change your job. In ff14, you can change your job at any zone, at any time with a simple click of a button.
When you see someone crafting, when you see someone on a chocobo, when you see someone just standing in a zone afk, they could be on any job they want at that time but it wouldn't change a thing about them being a smn.
And btw, I see smns all the time at Mhor dhona, Limsa, or Gold saucer or out in zone. You aren't online all the time and even if you are, you can't keep track of everyone in and out, changing jobs. Your conclusion is flawed.

Im not on this server since 2 days, and its not a secret that smn is less populated than other classes, same with monk.
Dont know why you have a problem if some people say they dont see so much smn you do, dont take it to serious oO

I ran a DF yesterday with two SMNs in it and I didn't win the weekly lottery....
I agree with you, the SMN plateaus way before every other class, even BRD has a degree of managing party tp/mp/debuff with their own DPS.
The hardest thing about SMN is opener getting everything up in time with lag xD.
There should be more variation to the rotation where one favors a situation over another, and more synergy between pet and SMN skill set.
The Summoner needs more busrts abilities to get out of the plateau. I hope in the expansion Summoner get a bursts phase by transforming into the Primals by using their body as the vessel for the Egis. The lore of the Summoner is the longer a Summoner horn is the more knowledge, power and aether a Summoner has. Since the Summoner horn is longer in 3.0 we can absorb more Aether meaning summons should have more abilities and be more powerful because we can draw more upon the essence of the Primal and have better control in manipulating the Primal Essence.

So basically SMNs hit puberty in the expansion. The horn gets bigger, we start getting hair in funny places. The Summoner needs more busrts abilities to get out of the plateau.
