You're choosing to gimp yourself by not unlocking PLD and potentially making it harder for other players. Don't be surprised if this upsets people.

Clearly OP is a WoW Player, You pick a class and that's it. Can't blame him for not being a paladin, quite a few of new players are doing this recently.
More on topic.
What I can gather.. a party member was using skills with a "text" macro.. annoying kick them from party that dps can eat another queue... Your the tank, tell him to stop if he doesn't kick. I'm sure 90% of the time the rest of the party will agree they would rather lose a dps than a tank people don't wanna be in a queue for a tank.

Just looking at your profile on the lodestone (http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...acter/8970990/), you don't seem to have unlocked your Job yet, or you haven't equipped the Paladin Soul Crystal. That is likely the reason why the person was harassing you, sad to say. He shouldn't have been harassing you, but there are some real @$$hats in any MMO. Sorry you had to deal with that.
There are two stages of the classes in this game. The base Class, like Gladiator, are what we start out as. Once we do all of the Class Quests up through level 30 we gain the ability to unlock our Job. Gladiators unlock the job Paladin and proceed to gain more abilities through the Job Quests.
The Paladin and Warrior jobs each get an ability to maintain enmity (hate/threat/whatever you wanna call it) much easier, I think a 20% or so increase in enmity generated per hit. Gladiator and Marauder classes don't get these abilities. With Shield Oath (the level 40 Paladin unlockable ability) activated, you gain the enmity generation increase. You will do slightly less damage overall, but you will be able to hold the enemies on you far easier because of the ability.
Seeing as you're a just gladiator, I recommend you head back to the gladiators guild and see if Mylia has a quest for you. If not, you might have picked it up already and just need to do the next step. If she doesn't have it, or it's unobtainable, you need to go to Gridania and unlock the Conjurer class and level it to 15. It is a requirement to get the Paladin job. (note: you don't need to do any Conjurer class quests after getting the class, but you do need to get it to at least 15 in order to unlock Paladin)
If I recall the Paladin job quest is with a Paladin guy near the Chamber of Rule in Ul'dah. The first Paladin quest gets you your Soul Crystal, which gives you the Paladin job when you equip it. Do those quests up through your current level, each quest will give you a new ability. The quests will unlock some great armor for you at level 45 and 50 too.

You were probably paired up with someone from Balmung. A lot of role players attach sentences to their macros for RP purposes. It does get annoying when they have them on often used skills, though.
The nightmare it would be to have a tank or DPS with combos that has a macro saying something for each and every one of their standard actions...Dear Godbert...

Only macro that gets on me nerves as a healer is the ones tanks like to make for pacification, I already esuna when I see the big red W and don't need a heads up as I have you on target anyway. Only thing this does is allow you to wait out the few seconds it takes to wear on its own. I am not the only healer that does this either as Ive been told be a few of my friends. I always try and get it as long as I'm not in the middle of a cast you will get esuna, unless you have the macro.![]()
You are missing one very important part. He needs to get conjurer to 15 before he can unlock PLD.Seeing as you're a just gladiator, I recommend you head back to the gladiators guild and see if Mylia has a quest for you. But to be fair, it has pretty much been said from the start that it should be made more obvious about unlocking jobs as it can be easy for new players to miss.

Edited, thanks lol. Completely forgot about it xD
