New War, help me out please

I recently decided to tank and gla is too cookie cutter and boring for me, so I got my WaR to 32 and I LOVE it so far. My real concerns are with my UI, Im on ps3 so I fear I wont know what should be on my main bar. Also could anyone give me pointers on how to use wrath both as MT and as more of dps, I would appreciate it.
Finally any knoe how Drk will be different from WaR? Im looking forward to leveling both, taking pld to provoke was a struggle because its so safe and boring, and if Drk is gona play like pld im good on it. Btw I have a 50 nin, blm, and mnk.

You use wrath stacks on certain skills that WAR has. However since your only lv32 you wont be seeing any skill(s) that uses them until lv35 With Inner Beast being your first. So how do they work? Well Inner Beast has a requirement, and that is to have 5 Stacks of Wrath. Same with Steel Cyclone, a skill for aoe aggor generation that you will get at 45. Unchained is a "buff" that uses 5 stacks of Wrath and allows you to ignore all damage dealt penalty that defiance puts on you. Now than which do you use? depending on your situation. Should you save it for inner beast or should you save your stacks for aoe threat? Most of the time You would want to use Inner beast on bosses so sometimes its alright to have 5 stacks for a while. You want to time the usage of inner beast for a big incoming hit like Mountain Buster. Steel Cyclone is there to grab hate on trash pulls or adds, IE dungeon pulls or let say adds at Shiva. Unchained is there is if you want to DPS for a few seconds while tanking. Again all based on your judgement of the situation your in. Things gets better once you get Infuriate which grants you 5 Stacks of wrath right a way. So you can do 2 skills in succession if you wanted to.

As for what goes on your hotbar? I dont play with the X-hotbar but i would suggest your threat generate combo and some Defensive cooldowns.

cool, thanks for the heads up, thats honestly why I got mnk to 50 after I got nin to 110, i feared I wouldn't be able to cut it as a tank, but I did a few runs and everyone said I was one of the better tanks they have had. WaR took my attention when one did SV hm with no heals and pretty much solo'd last boss, so I wanted to know how to use my stacks to be at tgat level of awesome. Seems like I should put wrath on my "off bar" then.

I play on the PS4, and I was curious if you could tell me, Genesis, how hard is it to tank using the crossbar system with a controller? That's always been one of my concerns about trying to tank or heal playing with a controller as I do. I've always just been curious. Thanks!

At level 50 a War has some form of Health regen. So if you Did something like Unchained > Berserk > Bloodoath, you can get a bit of your HP back per hit. Also inner beast allows you to regen HP back equal to the damage you dealt with it so popping an Infuriate after the rotation i mentioned will do some dmg and heal. You want inner beast to do max dmg for the max heals you can get. innear beast heal can be used with Bloodath for a double heal for 1 hit. Lets not forget about Thrill of Battle either.

Tankings not too bad on the cross bar once you get used to quickly switching between them. For your main bar I would say put the skills you know you'll be using often, like your hate combo and your storm combos, buffs you'll often use like berserk, etc. I would recommend IB on your main bar, though.

    Here's my main hotbar:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-L-9umbXefM (84 seconds)

I try to keep my dire-needed skills on the button side (so i can move + spamm) and less used skills on the d-pad.

    What you cant see are:
-Two marcos built into the thumbsticks.
-The green "2" on the Left hotbar/right dpad takes you to individual cooldowns (as opposed to the spammable * button).

If interested I'll post a full rundown of all macros used.

Ahhhh! Love how smooth you can use your hotbars. As for their layout... ::cringe:: But hey, whatever works, right?

I don't use the cross hotbar i make it a point to just tap R1 once to swap between hotbars i only use 2 it all i need really.

i like to keep mainly attacks on the button side then buffs on the d pad side also since you main dps classes like me i put things like second wind blood for blood blood bath and what not into the same slot so it feels familiar.
