on Gilgamesh in Mor Dhona, there are *casino* games offered at teh Fountain for zillions of gils....I am pretty sure that many have reported that person, becasue is a one person, but so far nothing has been done, which then leads me to believe is totally allowed right? how else to interprete this ?

ToS are there for the form mostly....day in and day out those are slapped in the face and twisted around to avoid to take responsability for those. Why people are still surprised is beyond me

I dont bother reporting anymore anyone, I have yet to see a concrete action, be it on harrassement, breach of rules or anything of the sort...or get another answer then a automatic answer.

I am glad some had good experience with uhmm GM but personally I cant say so far the same

Since this is certainly a concern that has been anticipated by the GMs, I can provide you some preliminary answers to your questions.

Abuse of the /random command to flood chat can be considered a spam violation and should be reported to a GM for investigation. This can be just spamming random repeatedly in public or making offers that incite the spamming of the random command from others. If you know that you don't want to see random results, a chat filter will be added under Character Configuration > General Tab > Log Filters > Announcements > Random Number Messages. While this can certainly help people who want to activate the filter, the fact that there is a filter for random results does not mean that spamming of the random command is ok because others could just block out spam if they didn't want to be bothered by it.

As for casinos, they are treated like trade agreements. This means that you should ensure clear rules are agreed upon in the game before engaging in this type of agreement, since the GMs can only enforce the terms of the agreement that was made in the game. So long as the agreement is upheld, the GMs should not need to get involved. If you do not feel that the agreement is upheld, you should report that to a GM for investigation for Fraud.

While pointed out in each paragraph, I will reiterate that suspected violations of the rules should be reported to a GM for investigation, and a GM will determine if there was a violation of the rules and take appropriate action based on the results of that investigation. I hope this helps to clear up the GM position on the new feature.

to me is a way to get gils AND potentially force people to turn to RMT to get illitice gils in order to play to those sort of casinos which are only for money really, the game being NOT a casino, therefore is using the game to promote something that is NOT game related, so even if casino the per se is nto against ToS the use of the platform to promote something else totally not related to the purpose of the game, which has never been advertised as being a casino, is somewhat a breach of ToS...but th ena gain, ToS are written in such a way that is always grey.

Not to mention that ToS specifically say "gambling* as being PROHIBITED..maybe though playing casino (sort of ) is not gambling ?

Juse me though, as said I dont bother to report anything of the sort. It will happen that someone will realize that it may not be that clear crystal and complain on these boards sooner or later on how strange it is that someone always win and never loses...or rarely loses. I wait for that time

They should ban housing and glamour too, in fact ban, anything people enjoy that uses in game currency.

I didnt know that ToS and their enforcement were directly related on the satisfaction of the players, if they are happy ToS can be ignored, if they arent happy it needs to be enforced.....strange concept

Why is it ok to sell eternal bands for gil but not art? I guess rmt is ok cause square is getting paid.

Simple workaround: art commissions FREE with your purchase of a grade 1 dark matter. So long as you're paying for an in-game item, it's not a violation of the TOS.
