Event help

I've done the quest line 6 times thus far. Took 3 before I knew the hints were even specific (I never looked at the actual entries beyond the first.)

-There's only one new npc in Central Shroud.
-Both Ul'dah and Limsa have 3 new npcs each. Some hints could potentially cover more than one place. (example: I got 'mines' for Ul'dah on my first run through and that could be Nanawa Mines in Central Than or Copperbell Mines in West Than.)
-The girl you see in the cutscene changes. If you're running a lot of alts through this event, you may be able to match the girl to her specific npc boyfriend by appearance.
-The quests are level 15, therefore you can exclude any location higher level than that.

If this is the right forum, but my wife and I were doing the event quest in limsa and she got the hint "ships". Neither of us are very familiar with the area and can't seem to find the person, and where wondering if anyone could help us. Thanks!

Woah... This is interesting. I wonder if somebody who did not start at Limsa will be able to get this clue (Somebody who is not MRD/ACN). I thought this clue would only be understood by somebody who did the main quest line at Limsa.

I thought it was fun too! A smidgen too easy though. I got all of mine first try. It took me a second to find Gridania's, but that's because my hint was "chocobo" so I went to the chocobo stables instead of searching around the aetheryte.

Mine was "chocobo" too, and I talked to every NPC at the chocobo stable (even tried talking to the chocobos) at Bentbranch and Treespeak Stables before finding the guy by the crystal at Bentbranch. If the clue is chocobo, shouldn't he be by the chocobos? Obviously I got wiser for Limsa and Ul'Dah. Looked by the crystals first. I was frustrated, though. I wanted something a little less vague.

Also, "Central Shroud" is one of the possible clues? What a cop out. That's not even really a clue - it just tells you where to go!

I got "Fruit" (for limsa).
So I found a valentines quest NPC at moraby standing in front of a few boxes of fruit, and that wasn't him. Instead, it was some guy in the middle of nowhere at summerford. Makes legit sense.

Summerford has grape vines and some kind of fruit trees. It actually does make sense :P

for me the Limsa (Clue: Construction and Docks which made me think of Moraby dry docks) and Gridania (Clue: Chocobos which made me think of bentbranch meadows ) ones where easy the Ul'dah (Clue: Kings) one was a little vague to me but I kinda knew where it was as my FC friend was talking about that in the chat a few days prior

Did not realise it was possible to get different clues from your friends. That is good design. I did the Shroud one first and my clue was chocobo, which obviously means Bentbranch. That set my expectation that each of the three clues leads to an aetheryte camp, and sure enough, construction = moraby, king = horizon. My first hunch for each was correct; was nice to be rewarded for having basic knowledge of the world.

My Ul'Dah clue was "saloon" so I left Ul'Dah out one of the gates and went to the Coin and Coffin in Central Than. He wasn't there, so I went to the aetheryte to check the buildings near there, and he was by the aetheryte. The Limsa one was tricky because I got "lockup" and it made me think of those Fates where Yellowjackets are escorting prisoners in Lower La Noscea. I completely forgot about that little prison cell in Aleport.

I really enjoyed these quests, though. I hope future events follow the same idea.

This is awesome, I had "chocobo", "gate", and "booze".
I wish more events are like this. But not as hard as winebaud of course..
