Duty Roulette and Joining in Process

So yeah, another post by me. Sorry I hate doing these things but another rant I guess.

Most of the time joining in process helps this go by so much faster, but lately I've been getting into groups where off the bat I join in and they are abandoning.

Is there any chance *winces* that if after an abandonment takes place for the person just joining in let's say a 5 minute window time frame or something, that when requeuing as dd the time will lessen for next pop?

I know it's a long shot but I always end up somehow being in Garuda and people raging as my low level roulette.

...how would they lessen the time? The lengthy time limit isn't something SE has any control over, it's based on there being sufficient tanks and healers to make a party :P

i think OP is talking about having a priority queue for ppl in "abandoning parties"..

    dps gets into abandon party.
with some kind of algorithm, dps gets placed priority queue.
queue system clears people in the priority queue first, thus lesser wait time.

i highly doubt there's a way to identify "abandoning parties" because it's pretty much the same as party looking for extra players.

can only blame the party for not using "Vote Abandon", or the party leader that decides to troll others by clicking the "find more members".

    Yes Milleus has it right.

    /sigh.

I just don't understand how sometimes I can enter and the dungeon is completely empty. Feel like if all personal has left the building the dungeon should just abandon itself lol.

But oh well back to the drawing board.

This is why I don't queue in progress for anything other than Frontlines and CT. Someone left the party for a reason, and if it was a healer or tank, the rest will likely follow.

I don't even bother queuing for in-progress dungeons anymore. I've gotten too many situations like the OP describes, or worse a party that isn't abandoning but has only one member left. The system fills this one person at a time, so now after sitting in a 40 minute queue, I'm the second dps in a party composed of 2 dps and we sit for another 40 minutes while the system maybe gives us two more members.

The system should not place players into an in-progress dungeon unless it can fill the entire party at the same time.

The DF itself is pretty strange it doesn't do things in a logical way. Why a dungeon doesn't auto abandon instantly when all party members leave is beyond me. It depends what the dungeon is when it comes to in progress. Some like EXDR dungeons are popular so will fill up quickly when people leave. Sometimes i think people leave a dungeon too easily when one diva Tank decides to leave because the party isn't what they want or somebody doesn't have perfect gear or because they can't hold aggro on their massive pulls and want to blame everyone else. Tanks queue in progress on these dungeons all the time so somebody new will be along in 5 minutes or less but people will usually see the Tank leave and just follow.

I don't think some sort of priority queue would be workable though since it depends on Tanks and Healers being available it would still be like the regular queue in that 90% of the people in it are DPS. It's the same problem in every single game nobody wants to be a damage sponge or keep people alive they want to blow things up and kill enemies.
