**The same Benchmark score after GPU upgrade????**

    hi all,

    my specs are...

    Athlon X4 640 Quad (oc to 3.3ghz)
    2 TB HD's
    GTX 260 (Gainward GS)
    8GB DDR2 ram
    Antec powergamer 750watt PSU

and i just uprgraded to the GTX 560 by ASUS with a factory OC to 850mhz.

before with the 260 my score was just over 3000 and now with the 560 my score is still just over 3000!

the new card is great, already run a few benchmarks and it really makes stuff like witcher 2 and crysis 2 look soo much better and the fps is 50 and 60+ max where as before in newer game's i was getting around 40 fps.

just a little confused about the score, i have heard that the benchmark is surprisingly aswell not optimized for non i7's and GTX 460's lol

i do have a keen eye for graphics and i can see the FFXIV running a little better overall except in Uldah lol

should i be worried? something im missing? being to para? hehe

    thanks!

Well, tbh, when you look at all the specs, while you increased your mem clock and speed and doubled your cores, the overall bandwidth speed is only slightly better and same with your fill rates. GPUs are the hardest thing to upgrade due to the small changes made beyond memory speed. So most folks will see mem speed and go "Holy SH!T that's awesome!" Only to realize that MAJOR parts that matter are marginal at best with changes. If you had a crappy 9600GT like mine and went to the 260 or the 560, you would notice the difference. Other thing is, some games go about the use of your GPU differently then others which maybe why you see significant changes on games like Witcher and such.

Honestly though, keep the card it's not going to hurt.

What other specs do you have Zenuka? Are they much different then the OPs?

    1 word.
    Bottleneck.

8800GTS on my system gets about 2900
GTS 450 gets slightly above 5000 on my system
GTX 460 gets around 6700+ on my system

GTS 450 on my brother's Athlon II X2 bottlenecked system gets between 1900-2300.

While your performance in other games has increased, it's still not as good as if you had a more powerful system. A lot of games can be CPU bound.

And it's been shown in multiple articles that a PhenomX4 with the same GPU as a high end Core i7 will perform consistently and significantly less across the board. Though that doesn't mean it doesn't manage perfectly good framerates.

Also my system spec's for reference

    Core i7 950@4.2Ghz
(No GPU ATM because dead 460)
    G-skill 1333Mhz RAM@1600Mhz 8-8-8-24-1N
    Corsair TX750

    AMD phenom II 3core 2.59ghz
    4GB of DDR2

But the 450gs play on much higher setting with less issue then my old 3780 so the score mean noting lol 100score more and i get high setting and DOF gameplay so no issue here

    yeah probably.

Last I checked, the 1100T is one of the best performing AMD CPU's for gaming. Performing almost on par with Core i7's

CPU bottleneck could be what is holding you back.

FFXIV can be quite HDD intensive too.
