To me, all that sounds like you want to go back to play FF11 instead, as Paladin and/or Corsair, to the old days with lv 75 cap but with the current jobs like Geomancer.

We'll get more abilities with the expansion and probably all of the jobs/classes will become a bit more complicated. (Or it happens so that we can leave some skills behind as the new ones replaces them. Who knows.) What it comes to playing with our feet, it's true and mostly can't be anything else, since battle arenas are big, dungeon maps, all maps are huge. You need your feet/mount/teleport to get from A to B. Interaction with objects still happens with your character's hand or hands, even during battle, but you just have to get there before you can do it.

Your examples are very negative by the way and ff14 is still one game only (until Manderville Gold Saucer comes ;P ) but for some reason you separate footwork from abilities/spells. You need to learn to be good at both and when that happens, the next stage is how well you work with the rest of the players, unless you're soloing. The classes and game is as good as you are and like was said already, all of them are versatile if played correctly and are not boring whack-a-mole types. Correct rotations, your position vs. enemy vs. other players, distance especially as a ranged/caster, timing of your abilities and spells to boost max out of something like Divine Seal or Manawall, queue your defensive abilities on a big pull ect. ect. WHILE dodging/following fight mechanics makes it interesting. If that all is still boring to you, you need to at least triple task!

(edit: character limitation!)
