    Macro comments

    Hi,

    I'm currently running FFXIV on Boot Camp (native Windows, Multi-boot) on my iMac (mid 2011 with 16GB RAM, Intel Core i5 and Radeon HD 6750M). Somehow when I'm running the game on higher settings then standard the game seems to get more choppy, but in the Task Manager the CPU is completely unused (like 15-20% tops) and RAM is not and issue off course. Guess this still is an issue with compatibility? Also the benchmark got me down with a score of ~1000 (high).. High rendering works perfect, but the game is running like thick butter then, but the system is like 30 degrees celcius mode .

    Ok, back to the point. I'm currently not in Boot Camp, so I can't look it up right now, but I was wondering if you could comment inside macro's. For personal use. Like with real coding you use like:

    # COMMENTS
    // COMMENTS
    /* COMMENTS */

    Is this possible inside the macro section in FFXIV?

    The closest thing you have to comments is; /echo. this just basicly echoes w/e text you add after it in to your log window when you run the macro. idk if this is what you were after or if you literally want comments that are not seen anywhere but the macro page.

    You need minimum a score of 1000 to play the game (you can go lower, but this is the number SE said earlier)

    I read things about that online too. But there also seem to be a lot of info about incompatibility of the code to the hardware. I read a lot a people having like 5000 dollar/euro power house PC's that also get those scores.
    The game runs pretty well on standard. On higher settings it renders it perfectly in the quality, but the experience is goes from fluidly to chubby.

    Also playing with a PS3 controller now, love it!

    I have a similar issue (also running iMac 2011):

    Intel i7 3.8GHZ (I think)
    8GB RAM
    Same Vid Card as you.

    The problem is the vid card is trash. It's designed for a laptop. Either need to upgrade it or wait until Apple releases a new model that doesn't use an "M" card.

    Thanks of the reply Archadius. Even on my MacBook Pro 13" from mid 2011 i get the same performance results (Nvidia 320M). The laptop is much weaker than the iMac. Also I can run RIFT (another MMO) on Ultra settings fluently. That game even has better graphics (as in effects showing and environment effects. Yes FFXIV is much "prettier" off-course in it's own way ). This said I mean to say there is much room in the FFXIV code to enhance the performance of the game. But it seems the focus is on the game mechanics at the moment, as the ALT+TAB bug also still isn't fixed after a year.
    Last note; a friend of mine has a much older PC and also runs fairly easy on medium settings.

    Actually my vid card is a 6970M (even better) and I still have the issues. So yeah, generally just avoid "M" cards like the plague. I learned my lesson the hard way.
