Achievement XP - Wasted?

I have been going through the process of leveling DOH/DOL classes and also some DOW classes for the applicable CS's.

Now, with my lvl 50 main I recently was farming Fates for those pesky Alexandrite drops and unlocked two achievements concerning Fates (don't remember which they were) that gave a total of 192K skill points.

My first thought was, wow what a waste, but then I thought...what if I had been leveling up my lvl. 12 Lancer and unlocked that achievement; would I have gotten the same amount of XP?

Basically, I am a little confused how this works. When I equip as Lancer and look at the achievement log, nothing has been "reset" because of my lower level or because I have not accomplished those things as a Lancer.

Any words o' advice would be appreciated; I hate to think that a lack of foresight or planning on my part could cause me to miss out on some EASY leveling.....know what I mean?

Come to think of it yes, they were. Duh on my part. So I guess I can complete those no matter what I'm currently leveling.

The amount of XP you get from completing things in your challenge log depends on the class you are currently on. ^^

It is annoying to miss out on the XP when you're on a 50, though. I am leveling botanist but also do some mining on my 50 miner, I try to keep an eye on my challenge progress so I don't miss out on what is basically free XP.

Yeah I hear ya. Wish they "stored" xp for level cap raises.

The amount of exp scales to what your current level is. So a lv12 would not get 192k exp ^^ but yeah, is a waste

This would make zero sense. It would have most 50s instantly don't 60 on patch day and be instantly awarded all their new abilities without having to play through any of the new leveling content.

Better increase the gil reward if you are at lvl cap

The could just add a "Claim Reward" system. Soo many times I've missed out on exp cause I did a high level roulette.
And sometimes I can't join my friends in expert roulette cause I need to do the low level one so I don't waste the exp.

SE is so bad at overlooking stuff like this, they release everything like it's in beta stage.

That's one thing I always pay attention to is the Weekly Challenge Log. Once I get the message of almost completing a log, I change to a lower class and finish it off so I won't waste the XP. The good thing is that they do warn you, so it is easy not waste those XP if you're paying attention. The extra cash and XP does come in handy. I just wish they'd add more Challenges like Hunts, for example.
