    Crafting and gathering self sufficient??

As title say and more precise, let's say i have all crafting, gathering and some DoW/DoM (for mobs mats) classes on lvl 50.....is DoL enough to farm all needed mats for ENTIRE craft from DoH classes (+ ofc any DoW/DoM class to farm mobs mats)???

I suppose there are some mats that are collectet by some kind of crafting currencies but this not count

    P.S.
I simply consider going into crafting gathering stuff self sufficient by farming mats by my own and not spending any gil them except that buyed from vendors of any kind.

Yes. Some of the higher tier mats may be rare and therefore time-consuming / frustrating to try to farm when you need them. On the other hand, trying to farm everything in advance so you have it in stock to craft with would quickly use up all your inventory/retainer space, so you'd need to find a balance between which mats to stockpile and which to gather only when needed. Most crafters add in which to just buy as needed into the mix as well, but so long as you have all the crafters/gatherers and at least one combat class maxed, that "which to buy" category is optional.

What's more, for the most part while you're leveling up, a crafting class of level X will need items that can be gathered or made by other classes at level X, so it's worth keeping them near each other in level. (One early exception is that a level 1 Weaver needs a level 15 Botanist if they don't want to buy all the Moko Grass they'll need, but that's vendor purchasable and really cheap.) It's ok (though rarely necessary) for your gatherers to be ahead of your crafters, but you don't want it the other way around. And you'll want all your crafters to stay near the same level in order to supply intermediate materials to each other.

I am working on leveling all my crafting classes without having to buy the mats (at least for now). I find that leveling the gathering classes up first or at least keeping them a few levels higher than all your crafting classes helps keep everything running smoothly.

I farmed materials on both the gathering classes and got them 15 so far. Yea it was boring, but I did it on my laptop while watching tv the last 2 or 3 nights for about 2 hours.. I was able to sit down and get each crafting class between levels 5 to 7 before running out of the basic materials. When each hit 15 I plan on looking up a guide for each, farming the exact materials I need and then doing leve's. Doing 5 levels in a clip until each are 30/35, which is my main combat classes level.

Then taking a crafting break to finish getting to 50 and letting me leve's recharge. Right now they are almost maxed, but I do a few a day just to keep it from capping at 100.

You can mostly be self sufficient. When you get to higher level crafting (really anything post 50) a lot of the more expensive materials for combat gear will come form combat activities. Basically the crafting materials that you can buy with GC seals, find in dungeons, or buy with soldiery tomes, although you can get lots of GC seals form crafting and gathering as well. You can also buy several materials with Ixali oaknots.

I suppose it's not so much that you can't be self sufficient, but past 50 the more difficult/ expensive materials can't be gathered.

Thx a lot guys for answers, it helps a lot.
Got 2 heal class, 2 dps, and nearly one tank on max lvl so i have variety in farming for not gathering mats but think that i do this with my upcoming lvl 50 tank cause queues will be faster. Rest mats are gathereable from what i understand so thx a lot again for enlightening me so i can be sure that i can be self sufficient as crafter (no gill spend on mats except maybe those from vendors).

They are but... I think it's a bit impossible to try and gather all the rare mats yourself, especially for furniture and some vanity gear. You're gonna have to rely on the MB unless you plan on spending a lot of time farming content for a chance to see it drop. Everything else though (especially leveling or combat gear) yes, you can make yourself.

Yes, if you rely on getting all the rare drops yourself, it'll give you another reason to hate RNG. So yeah, it can be done, but most players will reach their frustration limit at some point if they want to do a lot of high-level crafting (and that's where the non-crafters who get rare mat drops can make a lot of money off of them).
