Event Music vs. Real Game Music

As a Final Fantasy fan, I'm sure you all know how lovely their music tends to be. I would LOVE for the music to ACTUALLY BE PLAYING throughout the game, rather than that annoying summer event music that is short and cycling over and over again. It's hard to enjoy the game listening to it, and not as fun without the in-game music.

I have heard, on random occassions (probably through bugs), the normal music for towns and battlefields. It's very beautiful and I wish it could be toggled on and that festive music to be toggled off. >:

Seriously, do you need world-wide music just for one event? It's not that special. I know I'm not the only one that hates it.

AND IN BEFORE ANYONE SAYS, "Well, just turn it off!" "Well, turn on your own music!" "Well, stop complaining!"

It's not about that. It's about actually being able to hear the normal BGM and having the option of toggling music on or off. I think it should be added as a feature next time. I have had that song playing in my head for days. And I don't want my OWN music. I don't play FF to listen to my own music. I like their music, just not...that event song.

I agree with this.

In fact, I'd just like to state, for the record, that replacing about 50% of the games music with a single (terrible) track is stupid and unnecessary. Don't do it!

Also I would like to take the opportunity to say that the sound design in general in this game is really lacking. The BGM for most areas is very nice but the transitions from field to battle or to leves is really terrible. There should be overlaying themes in each area of the world and all the music, whether it be field, battle, leves or even crafting should fit into that theme wherever you are and whatever you're doing within those areas.

At best, I think the event music should only play when you're near an event npc of some sort. I've never really minded anything like that previously (such as in FF11), but the summer music isn't that great, and having it play all over the place is pretty terrible.

Yeah, exactly. I like the suggestion about having better transitions into battle music, etc., and the event music only playing near an NPC or towns. Thank you for backing up my feedback, guys. I knew there were more people who hated that song!
