regarding all the topics over the forum, with suggestions of ilvl of certain items I would like to share my idea how progression in FFXIV should be to make the game more challenging.
iLvL shown bellow is not fixed number its just for illustration so you can see difference between content. Take it more as percentage value.
I am using expressions like "coil patch" and "tower patch" to give a impression when certain content should be released. Coil patch reffering to patch when endgame content is realeased in game. Tower patch is something like when CT/ST/WOD patches were released.
Starting from higher to lower:
Endgame 8 man tier 3 ilvl 100 (Savage++ dificulty)
-This content should be released every 6 months with "tower patch" content
-As far we know "tower patches" are always boring for raiders and there is almost nothing to do, so raiders will receiver some new tier to unlock.
-Tier 2 req., only players with t2+ gear can complete it
-Unique set
Endgame 8 man tier 2 ilvl 90 (Savage difficulty)
-Realeased with "coil patch"
-Should have difficulty that only people who have some gear from tier 1 should unlock
-Also tier 1 complete is req.
-Unique set
Endgame 8 man tier 1 ilvl 80 (FCOB difficullty)
-Released with "coil patch"
-First real raid content
-Players are able to complete first turns with ex primals/tower/casual raid gear
-Unique set
Endgame 4 man ilvl 80 (FCOB/Savage difficulty)
-New type of content
-Released with coil patch
-Less players needed
-Should be slighty harder or same as current FCOB and same or slighty harder than 8 endgame man tier 1
-Unique set
8 man Ex primal ilvl 75
-Entry level for endgame raid content
-Should be as filler for accesories
-1 primal every 3 months (eg. "coil patch"=ring,"tower patch"=neck or similiar)
Casual 8 man tier 2 ilvl 75 (Nerfed coil without echo)
-Something like nerfed SCOB without echo
-Unique set
Crafted gear ilvl 70
-Should be there as fillers for entry into casual tier 2, or Endgame tier 1
-Vita/Acc cap to not reproduce mistakes from past
Casual tier 1 ilvl 70 (WOD/Towers, similiar content, hunts upgrades, poetics, dungs)
-Entry for raids, endgame
-Poetic gear should be upgradable from 70->75 after 3months
-Add ilvl 70 set to hunts not only for glamour but also as entry for tier 1 raids
New type of content
-Add something challenging like arena where mobs come in waves starting from lvl1 rabbit with ending like 5 twintanians,
Should be for 1/4/8 players and add ingame ladder for that, make like 50 waves of enemies and made last 10 unbeatable, because there will be always somebody who will beat unbeatable.
TLDR
- 3 endgame contents and 3 unique sets for 8 man raiders
- 1 endgame content and 1 unique set for 4 man raiders
- 1 set for casual 8 man tier 2, 1 crafted set, 1 poetics like set with slight upgrades, 1 wod like set, 1 hunt like set, 1 dung set
- Total 10 new sets every 6 months
- 2 ex primals every 6 months
- Some challenging content with ingame ladder
Like you see I think game need more challenges like it have nowadays.
