iLvL was not a thing, player skill was a thing. Scared to enter coil? No prob get i90 via other means and then try. The player base was broad as were the gear routes.

Levi was done well with useful weapons.
Ramuh dropped useless gear and later updated the accessories. (Way too late)
Shiva was done ok with weapons but the wrist should have been i130.
Odin is useless



a Odin Ex FATE would be nice ^^



Everytime someone get killed by Odin during the fight, he increase his damage and defence for 20 seconds.
And let him spam adds, dozen of adds (maybe valkyries?). And then let him kill everyone if the adds are still alive after 45 seconds ^^

Hard Modes went from worthwhile to useless with the introduction of Leviathan. Even if the weapons rewarded were only good for the next set of HM Primals, they still had a use and it still felt like there was a point to doing them (especially when Titan was a gate).
EX Garuda/Titan/Ifrit were also good because you got the highest current ilvl accessories from them (really worthwhile rewards) and you got a weekly weapon equivalent to the upgraded Relic with different (and usually more worthwhile) stats. EX Levi was good, rewarded T5 tier weapons with different stats, similar to the original 3. Ramuh was relatively worthless. Shiva EX was good for a short period of time (free i120 bracelet), then started losing it's worth - i115 weapons were a good idea, but that's what they should've been to begin with.
Hopefully they've learned what worked and plan to implement it into 3.0's EX/HM Primals. I doubt HMs will change, but who knows.



I rather have more challenging open world content with useful gear (Fraction Leves, etc) then more EX primals with vanity gear![]()
