Anybody else find that odd? Your character or mount faces forward but is moving laterally when jumping. Seems like an easy detail to implement.

*Yada Yada yada...* "data restrictions." You already know why they don't add more animations to our characters. Would be to much for their servers to process to determine a basic jump animation to a strafe style jump. I blame the ps3.
animation is not as easy as people think it is.
I hadn't actually noticed this before...
I mean while mounted, atleast.
*starts strafe jumping everywhere while mounted*

I noticed this a long time ago when I was jumping around on my Couerl mount. I kept thinking "There's something wrong, here..." There is, in fact, only one jumping animation for each race/gender, and one for each mount. In some cases it looks fine (Magitek mount, Ahirman, to name a couple) since they're either alien looking or robots or whatever. But with things like the Couerl, there are little details that don't make sense like the whiskers not flowing along behind as you arc through the air, but staying stationary, or how the horses kip up the back legs after jumping (both examples make sense when standing still, but look totally freakin' awkward when in motion).
As for strafing, the mount (Or character) should AT LEAST turn the direction you're strafing in as it jumps. There's a lot of awkwardness in general in the jumping, like it was added as an afterthought. Yeah, animation isn't easy, but it's really not THIS hard.
Which MMOs have a sideways jumping animation? Of all the things to gripe about...
