Imperial Legatus Nael van Darnus questioned in Camp Horizon (Full Script & Video)

Hello, adventurers!

Yesterday I met with Imperial Legatus Nael van Darnus in Camp Horizon, something I was trying to do in a while. I questioned him, Onizuka-style, and he and his two minions actually answered me (and one of them was also about to attack me...!).

Sorry for this ultra-quick forum post, but outside of Eorzea is past 03.30 AM right now (argh, what?!) and it took me a while to write that down in one evening and upload the video in time (before dawn ), so I hope you enjoy it and will have your chance to meet Darnus and question him as I did, so that maybe we'll discover something else.
Tomorrow I'll add more stuff, if requested.

I, too, would like to know if there's a better indicator of when these guys are going to show up so I can see them for myself in game.

He's a GM-controlled character. Absolutely no way to know those conditions.

Well, when Alfgar showed up in the past, it was an indication that Urianger was running around. Although he is currently heralding the Garlean incursions instead.

Keeping an eye out for Roysia while playing at Horizon may be something to try.

Note that the encounter with Darnus occurred when there were no other players around. Horizon is decently populated atm on besaid, so chances of encountering Roysia or Darnus there is low.

Roysia appears at other camps, I saw her in Tranquil the other day warning about imperial attacks in the same manner as Alfgar does in ul'dah

I found the whole 'conversation' element quite embarassing to watch, but thanks for posting it, I was interested to see it ingame.

They have a better teleport spell effect than us :<

If you see Roysia appearing in Camp Horizon and she has two dialogues different than the ones seen while she's in Tranquil or Bloodshore to warn about imperial attacks, it means Darnus, Atilus and Luscus are about to appear near Horizon. Here's her dialogues:



Actually, when I met the three imperials, there were other adventurers around, but it seems like I was the only one truly interested (or bold enough ) in questioning them; some were just passing by ignoring them or were busy doing party... Oh well, to each his own adventure.
So yeah, I'd also like that we adventurers really interested in the happenings in Eorzea could know better when these events take place.

I posted the times of the event's happening in my journal, and just after a few Eorzean minutes (that is, the time to talk to Roysia a couple of times), Darnus showed up with his two minions.

I don't know if Alfgar was in Ul'dah warning on this as well, but if you see him and he talks about a distinctive armored imperial (Roysia had two questions to be asked), then chances are he's in Horizon.

This is what I could gather and I'm sure that after the end of September we'll see more on this individual, maybe in cutscenes, like happened with Urianger during the first of the Grand Companies' quest.

And I keep on wondering if Gaius van Baelsar will show up as well, sooner or later, near Silvertear Lake...
