working as a team in a party

When the tank marks things please fight in order of the numbers, when I tanked I would mark things, and one or both DPS's fought something else, and in a attempt to pull it/them off the DPS one of the others would go after the healer, so I stopped pulling hate off the DPS, it's not the tanks or healers job to teach DPS how to count, if you don't want to follow numbers, don't use DF make a party/use PF, have any other tanks had this problem? if so what did you do about it?

as for me and my Wife we gave up on pulling it off DPS's that wont follow the number order, like the day before yesterday in amdapore keep hard we had a BLM and BRD that ran ahead and when the BLM died he said "GJ" my Wife was a PLD I was WHM, I told her "It's his fault he died, I wasn't going to heal him for running ahead" she felt bad that he died, so tanks out there what do you do?

Let them die if they act stupid, keeping them alive just encourages them.

But... I'm going to be extremely rude now, take care.
Sorry but for most dungeons 50 you shouldn't loose agro, just learn to keep hates better. The amount of bad lv50 tanks is truly impressing, it's even more sad when they are in the ilv100-ilv120+ range, what a shame.

You just can't ask your DPS to nerf themselves just because your tank is pure garbage, if he/she can't hold hate on pack of mobs as level 50 with decent gears, then the problem isn't your DPS but the tank. And so, the solution is simple get better at tanking or change main job.

Most everyone is in a hurry these days, always late for something. Aint got no time to follow silly numbers. Anyways, I don't even bother marking and no one really says anything about it. If people want to run ahead, go ahead they may just die and get angry. Hardly anyone sets any game plan or whats expected at the start of dungeons. Even if you do most of the time there is no response.

I think for the most part most people will just watch what you pull first, then go down the line from there. If its a stronger monster or has an AOE I'll hit it first. I'm always cycling through the list anyways to keep the healers aggro down. Haven't really had any complaints so it seems most people are ok with it.

Honestly don't remember the last time I marked anything. DPS hitting something with a "1" over its head doesn't magically increase damage dealt and in ex roulette dungeons the pulls are usually large enough that things just get aoe'd until they die if the group composition allows for it.

Last time someone did this to me when I tanked... after they pulled twice before me, I stood there and wait for them to die........ I already am still learning to keep aggro, if now you just go and attack before i can throw my shield to try and get aggro, you know what? I won't try to get it back y.y/

when I dd, i always try to get the mob that tank is hitting, am not always successful IF there are no numbers, if there are numbers, I follow it.

Anyway this is the reason I prefer tanking with my fc, so premade party but sometimes happens that I do tank with randoms; now that i'm more comfortable doing it.

In low level dungeons where keeping aggro is harder due to lack of abilities or I'm leveling and someone is level synced, yes, I mark. If someone keeps pulling hate due to not paying attention, I will attempt to pull back a mob a couple times and will let them keep it after that.

In max level dungeons, I don't mark. DPS gonna aoe anyways. At this point, a tank should be able to keep group hate.

Other than that, if you don't want to put up with annoying random players in the DF, go with friends. :/
Also, you're preaching to the choir. The folks that take the time to actually read the game forums are usually the ones smart enough to know how dungeons work. ><

so what your saying is if someone pulls ahead of the tank and healer we are supposed to run after them and save their ***es? yeah if they want to pull ahead then their lives are up to them to save, so now you have a good day.

Oh, you mean specifically running ahead and pulling? Nah, if they want to tank that bad, I'll let them. The suggestion has been made more than once, too, to go with friends. Perhaps try that first instead of snapping at those here who are trying to offer you ideas. ^^v

I do that in low level dungeons if I feel im a bit undergeared for the dungeon. And if they dont follow my numbers I'll just let them tank it.
In higher level dungeons I know people assume a big pull, so I just grab a lot and spam flash until my eyes bleed. Usually never lose any aggro that way so marking isnt neccessary in higher level dungeons imo.

But if they run a head to pull they can tank it, sillyfaces!
