I pretty much quit marking after brayflox nm where Bane became a thing, and I found it more fun to actually allow people to kill the mobs in decent time. If anything I'd be telling people "you're allowed to dot multiple/aoe" and have the packs dying almost in sync.

She is not a bad tank, in DF targets should be respected, sure a tank should be able to hold aggro when there are BLM doing aoes, but with melee dps, I find it really useless and making the work pointlessly TP expensive for the tank to pull aggro from, any ad will die anyway in the same time if there are 2 dps killing 1or2 each, normally I let that pass if they at least stay near me.

Sometimes, I really hate when they attack another target, pull the aggro, get saved back and later talk all proud like is the best dps ever for dealing so much damage that they pull the aggro away from the tank .-. I'm just there like seriously? maybe I should just let you die.

And when the DPS just run ahead pulling let it die, if they want to make a hard run pulling and doing your job trying to kill everything before they need to get saved at least they should have the respect to talk it out in the start, don't just blame the tank and healer when they die. Sorry my english

When I do dps, I have this macro /assist <2> its very helpful when the tank does not mark targets, then which ever the tank shield lobs that's my (1) target then after it dies /assist <2> again rinse and repeat.

I'm sure your macro works fine, but I just want to point out that it's not necessary. You can simply watch the tank. The one he attacks first will be red.

I fully understand the first attack will be red depending on pull though instead of funneling threw a bunch of monsters, it one click and its targeted saving time to attack as one example if using a controller. The macro is for after that fact for the pull, depending on party set up of course, if in single kill ,I generally try to focus on what the tank is attacking not another target to ensure it goes down faster instead hey everyone pick and chose a target to take down that isn't proficient when everyone should be focus on one target to insure quicker kills hence why people would like monster marked this macro ensure that it still happens but without the (1) (2) (3) (4) over the monster heads.

Just an observation. Op has their posting class set to mrd implying they changed it specifically from gld to such. Is not the bread and butter of mrd aoe the heck out of things with the highest enimity modified ability in the game?

More on topic I've seen a trend lately where lower il tanks are actually holding hate better than higher ones lately, a disturbing trend. An il90 tank can hold hate against a blm brd il120+ combo going hard at it if you cant hold the pack after it is gathered and stopped that tends to be a tank problem.

If any runs ahead of the tank and they die definatly their problem.

Aggro management is everyone's responsibility, not just the tanks.

Ah, DPS who think that their only job is to DPS as much as they can, regardless of who they're with or what is going on.

How many of you wipe to ifrit or levi ex cause you won't hold DPS on the boss when adds are coming since you have to have the biggest numbers possuble? How many of you cause wipes in dungeons because you have a newer tank with a much weaker weapon than you and won't tone things down?
I don't call you good DPS, or even ok. Your bad, maybe even terrible.
And I won't hesitate to let you die if you pull aggro off me (or the tank if I'm healing) while grouping mobs up during a big pull for aoe.

Learn your role; knowing when to hold shows you know the fight and who you're matched with and understand what being a good DPS means

When I was leveling tanks I actually liked it when dps went all out. I had to learn my rotation better so I could hold all the mobs. It made me a better tank for sure.

On level 50 dungeons and definitely when you have a BLM and BRD in your pt you should be expecting them to be using AoE attacks on the mobs. If this is when you're losing control of the aggro then I recommend using Flash/Overpower more frequently.

When I BLM I'll always AoE if tank pulls 3 or more mobs at a time. If the tank is having trouble holding hate even with Quelling Strikes up I'll switch to single target rotation. You need to adapt to what's currently going on. And work together, remember there is 3-7 other people playing with you too. Your way is not the only way of doing things.

want to count, don't use DF. It's a mixed bag, luck of the draw, roll of the die or however you wanna take it when queuing up for DF.
Make a Party with people you know you can count on. I just brave the storms in DF.
