    Long loading screens

Hi, I've been having some issues with long loading screens (both between areas and teleporting within a single area) and I just want to check that I haven't set something up wrong.

Between areas the loading screens can be up to about 50 seconds or maybe more, and within a single area (i.e from Wineport to Costa de Sol) can be up to 10-15 seconds. I brushed these times off as unimportant until recently, but today I've had 2 close calls whilst waiting for them. The first was nearly missing the duty finder timer since it popped between areas, and the second was being attacked by kobolds whilst waiting for the loading screen to go away after beating Titan.

My PC specs are as follows:
    CPU - Intel i5-4690K (3.5 GHz)
    RAM - 8GB DDR3-1600
    GPU - MSI GTX 970
    SSD - Crucial MX100 256GB
    HDD - 2TB Seagate Barracuda
    Motherboard - ASUS Z97-pro
    OS - Windows 7 Professional 64bit

These are my speedtest results while the game is running in the background:
    Ping - 7ms
    D/L - 69 Mbps
    U/L - 7Mbps

The game is installed on the SSD (along with Windows), the SSD has 114GB free. I've noticed the game created a folder in My Documents (which is on the HDD (866GB free)), but there doesn't seem to be much in it. Does the game need to use anything from this folder when loading? I know the HDD takes a second or two to wake up when it's needed.

The game is played on maximum settings, with the framerate capped at 50 due to screen tearing.

Is there anything strange about this setup that would be causing the long load times?

    Thanks in advance.

I made another thread about the same issue here http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-extremly-slow

But I didn't get a reply so I still haven't fixed the issue.
Tell me in this thread if you figure something out

I'm also having this issue... with PC hardware that can run this game without blinking. All the research I've done leads to 2 things.

1.) Corrupt Files (Likely if you didn't have the problem before and it recently started)

    or

    2.) Bad or Failing HDD.

My current plan of action is to first reinstall the game with a fresh install, if that doesn't work I do intend to replace my HDD (Hard Drive) soon. It's now 5 years old and could quite possibly be failing despite being capable hardware.

I'm interested in what you try and any results you get as I will keep you posted on my findings.

I'm having this issue and I am on PS3. I've had it before in the past, but not to this extreme it went from 12 seconds to almost triple that since the recent hotfixes. Yesterday I teleported to Mor Dhona and DF popped mid port and I missed the queue after I waited 33 minutes for low level to pop :/

Uninstall / Reinstall greatly improved my loading speed and NPCs are now loading immediately again.

    It's worth a try...

I did uninstall it, twice, and installed it again and it almost got worse lol. When I validate files through steam I get "44 items weren't available to validate" or something like that and then it downloads the files again, and I do another validate check and it gives me the same answer and redownloads them AGAIN, so I may have 44 corrupt files which I can't fix even by redownloading the entire game.

I'm afraid reinstalling my computer is the only way for me unless someone finds a superfix
