What kind of boils me is that the more runs you spam, the more SE's rng sysytem spats on your effort.
Folks who weren't bothered with the run gets all the lot miraculously.

I'll be honest, I'm a casual. I work too dang much to get on nonstop farming mounts and such, but the amount of handholding in this game is getting ridiculous. With he content nerfs galore, I don't feel like i am accomplishing much at all anymore. Some of us casuals want challenging content, we want rares, but for the love of the twelve keep it rare and challenging.
That's why we have the pvp mounts, but wouldn't mind other harder ways to get some other mounts that way too.
But mounts were supposed to be rare drops that very few people had. But now I feel like they drop every 3rd ex primal run, and I think almost everyone on my friends list has at least one ex mount.
I liked how rare it was to see someone with the mounts back when titan ex was the hardest thing in the world. Made me wanna farm them to get one too, but now that everyone has one it's not very cool anymore.
The kirin mount is still rare and cool, but i feel like upping drop rate on already rare mounts to only get one new really rare mount is such a waste of rare content overall.

I think some people want to emphasize more on the "rare item" part. Items that are extremely rare, add value to the game. Of course people will try and push their luck and mindlessly farm the corresponding content. Its not relevant that the mount is a "necessity" or not.
If its important to a specific player for any reason...that's reason enough to have a concern.
Too much is based on rng, not just mounts. It is an ancient way of thinking that imo needs to be revamped for a more tasteful design.
I tend to agree with op about rng in general
In a way it's a reflection of today's society. Everything you can get your hands on, which often is an item of status created in their mind, is a must have.
When you decide you must have a pony, you also need to realize why they put it in. It was meant to be rare, not to be farm friendly.
When did RNG became an accomplisment of YOUR DOING? Whenerver I see posting like these I loose faith in inteligence of humanity
If the horse mount were made for killing primals in specific strategical ways, and those strategies were the test of your skill, then you had accomplished something. As of now its just a lottery with wining odds. So your accomplishemnt is the same as it was even if you didnt get the whistle, you killed the primal and thats it.
You are saying farming a item that has a 1% drop rate isn't "something"? Please, let's see you go do it? Oh wait, no you'd rather ask SE to make it easier to get with a maximum cap of effort that has to be put in (rather than the luck of the draw). When did RNG became an accomplisment of YOUR DOING? A person that's going to farm something with such a low drop rate has determination, determination to slog through the grind. If RNG wasn't an accomplishment, you wouldn't have a billion posts complaining that the Relic quest or Ponies are too hard to get.
Maybe you should think first before insisting I'm unintelligent. I mentioned content nerfs in general. Though I may not have been very clear, I'm referencing primals and coil, and any dungeons they start reducing the difficulty on. I'm tired of not having difficult content because we get things like the Echo, and certain status effects and attacks weakened so we don't die as easily. The ilvl sync is set way too high for some of it as well. What SE should do is create content that doesn't suffer from nerfs. Constant difficulty and without such a freakishly high ilvl ceiling. This includes drops that remain rare drops.
If they took out the RNG and instead made it "collect X number of tokens," people would complain that the X number of tokens is too large or too small. Take a look at hunts to see what I mean.
At least with RNG, you can get it in as few as 1 run.
There will always be some facet of acquiring things in the game that doesn't work for you, because SE seems to want to try ALL of them.
Token drops? Hunts, GC seals, shiva, and the soldiery/poetics system
Random drops? Everything else
Also, as mentioned, random drops have been part of RPGs since RPGs became a thing. If it really bothers you THAT much, maybe the genre isn't for you.
The thing that infuriates me the most, is that it's usually the derpiest person in the group who wins the mount. Was in a group on Saturday (that was a good group), but the DRG died at least once every single time (sometimes twice) and won the Nightmare that dropped by rolling a 99. Why does it always seem that RNG rewards the worst person in the group?
