Yeah desynth is weird and generally all around unpleasant right now. I don't know why it's literally the only aspect of ff14 at the moment that you are limited in; you can be any class, level them all, get any relic you want, get any achievement you want, are never forced to choose anything, knowing you aren't locked out of anything... except desynthesis. Which they made incredibly focal to crafting to the point most progression past 50 requires rare demimateria. And then you go to a dungeon and need to lot on things to desynth, but if you pug then whoever can roll need on anything will, so you can only really lot on things you can equip at the time...

It's dumb. Desynthesis is dumb.
