Don't like speed-running? Here's an idea. Develop new dungeons with engaging activities between bosses. The trash-mini boss-trash-mini boss-trash-final boss corridor design is dreadfully boring at this stage. Oh, and taking the same design and putting gates in between the trash to block speed-running will just make players avoid that content altogether. It's infuriating.
I hate being carried through something. Where if I was new and everyone else so over geared I feel like I am there just for token attacks, or really the other 3 (less of an issue with 8 and 24 person content, depending they can largely be completed with several missing) could just as easily finish just fine without me. I am one that likes to SEE the dungeon, explore it, experience it. As a new person today, you are not going to get that. You are going to be swiftly carried through without REALLY seeing what is going on, or know that phases are skipped, or why is that add there but ok guess we will just ignore and burn boss, what is that mechanic and how do we deal with it... Blind runs into a dungeon are my favorite. The group explores and learns and figures things out as they go. Someone new in my group? I'll at times ask them if they want to go blind or have things explained. I guess I miss game where tactics played a nice part of it, other than simply "dodge that".
I personally think the ilvl sync needs to be tighter. But, it is also not ruining my fun of the game without the sync, or with the loose sync it is now. I was afraid that this will have a few things from WoW that I hate, and unfortunately it does once you hit level 50. Things are just an AOE zerg fest, and you swiftly get carried through something. It is of course worse in WoW, where there is no level sync, and your max level buddy can pull the entire level 20 dungeon to the end and aoe everything down, to "plow" you through. To me that is no fun at all.
I am also aware different people find different things fun. Really hard to please everyone. With them allowing solo dungeon runs, or even dungeons without level sync but accessible through DF, just going to cause problems. You going to have both sides (and even the third middle ground that doesn't care one way or the other) at war with each other, just like this thread, speed running in general, and a slew of other topics.

I think the ilvl sync should always be whatever the highest possible ilvl was when the dungeon was released. So i90 for AK and i130 for AK(Hard), for example.
[To be clear, im not saying it would sync you up to i130 in AK(Hard). Just if you were above that then you get synced down, like it works now.]
This allows for speed-running if you want to, but not flat out face-roll roflstomping.

Which solves nothing, really. WP and AK were being speed ran at i90, to the point where you could ignore almost all boss mechanics. Same is true of all other 4 mans: they were speed ran at their launch without issue.I think the ilvl sync should always be whatever the highest possible ilvl was when the dungeon was released. So i90 for AK and i130 for AK(Hard), for example.

Well they were sac pulled at launch until they added gates ^_^
AK was sac pulled (don't recall WP sac pulls, but maybe), but after the gates were added they were still speed ran. And even in i90 gear you could kill Demon Wall before gnats, or kill Anantaboga while ignoring Catastrophes. Or just ignore/mass aoe the tonberries at the King. . .
When S-E can design trash that does things more interesting than a few AOE circles and occasionally popping out of a scripted wall/spawn point/etc and going "BOO! Spooked ya, first-timer!" I'll be interested in a stricter item level sync.
As it is, it's bad enough being reduced to 3 buttons whenever I get a bad Animus dungeon pull.
video games are bad
I used to tank the roulettes, but refuse to HL roulettes anymore since the IL synk. What's the point of gaining all this gear if they're not going to let you use it in that kind of content as well? In a way its fun to be overgeared and steamroll stuff because we worked pretty hard to get this gear in the first place.
