    Level 50 Dungeon Level Syncs

    Currently many of the level 50 dungeons we have are synced down to an item level cap of 110, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong). This includes even the earliest level 50 dungeons: Wanderer's Palace and Amdapor Keep. Even with this level sync cap the dungeons are generally incredibly easy due to the majority of players being vastly over geared for the dungeons.

    If the ilvl sync was made closer to the intended range of ilvls it would be beneficial for newer players doing the duty for the first time since the other three party members won't be incredibly overpowered for the fights ahead (i.e. closer to their own ilvl. I've had dungeons where I had more HP than the tank as a healer). It would also make the dungeons more challenging than they have become due to the overpowered nature of our gear in comparison to the intended item level range the dungeon was built around.

    However, doing so would also make the dungeons last longer and possibly make it hard to skip phases and mechanics of fights. So it would be detrimental to speed runners trying to get through as quick as possible with their i100+ gear. Grinding dungeons can be tedious, especially if you run it multiple times within a relatively short time span (days? hours?).

    But, on the other hand, syncing down more could arguably make the content more fun and engaging again since we wouldn't be severely overpowering everything in the dungeons as much as we already do.

    And of course people don't want their gear to be synced down. Understandably so. I don't want my i117 WHM to be synced down at all when doing level 50 content. However, I do think even ilvl 110 is much too high for the old dungeon content, what more if the sync is removed and everyone is i130 doing the original WP and AK.

    TL;DR Essentially I'm curious what people think about the item level sync currently placed in certain level 50 dungeons (WP, AK, Pharos, Brayflox HM, etc.). Do you think it should be adjusted further? Left alone? Or do you think it should be removed outright?

    While I agree it would be nice for all the reasons you've mentioned above, I kinda think that if, every time you ran a level 50 dungeon, it was always a 'struggle' so-to-speak, it would tire out level 50 players who are sick of running the same content over and over again and would discourage them from queueing for these roulettes in the first place.

    I did WP & HMHM yesterday for the first since level-sync was introduced and we still managed to finish them in record times (even with fresh 50s). There was frankly zero challenge to anyone including the new people, not that any of us minded that xD

    I think both level and item level sync should be optional. As patches goes my character is getting stronger. If i want to solo run and wreck everything in a lvl 20 dungeon or speedrun WP normal run with friends, stop trying to stop me.

    Pretty much anything to continue to make speedrunners mad; sometimes it seems like I'm the only one who appreciates dungeon design (I'm aware this isn't true but. Hey.)


    Real answer: I don't mind the level sync. I mean, in under-fifty dungeons I always get a little sad I can't use all my skills, but whatever, you never could anyway so. Fine. In post-fifty dungeons? I barely notice.

    Yeah, I get it, you have more important things to do than run baby dungeons that are below you, and you don't want to spend two hours doing something you've done a million times... well... the wold doesn't revolve around speedrunners. Calm down.

Anyone who ran off without getting a protect on them gets no heal from me... sadly in the 8 man groups the other healers still heal meh.

    Maaaan I wish I could do that whenever I heal, I just feel so bad letting them die.... though it would show them that maybe they could wait like, three seconds.

    More fun and engaging goes out the window after the 5th time in a row running the same dungeon.
    Doing anything too many times in a row will get tedious. At least if you're significantly stronger than the "intended" level, it goes faster

    I never understood why all throughout 1-50, all of the dungeons have a very small minimum and maximum level range, then you reach level 50 and suddenly there was no max at all. Even now with the ilvl sync, the gap is huge, and, as the OP says, pretty meaningless. We still overgear the content so much that we just blow right through it.

    I'd maybe say stricter ilvl sync and increase rewards, but will this even make the dungeon more fun? Probably not by much, if at all. Maybe for new players.
