That and a /assist command would be nice.
I completely agree. I also played FFXI and I feel like Macros have been greatly degraded in FFXIV.
My RDM had probably 40-60 macros each with <stpc> and <stnpc>. I <stnpc> and <stpc> give so much control over what spell is going where when there is a lot happening at the same time. Timing is everything!
Another thing I miss is the ability to tap R2 or L2 to being up my list of macros. Its less fatiguing on the hands to be able to tap it, highlight the desired spell or ability, and then wait for the correct moment to cast. Additionally, if I hold down L2, then press and hold R2, and then release L2, the R2(crtl) menu should appear. Currently this leads to all macro menus disappearing.
Finally, i strongly dislike the forced wait between macro lines. Yes, it can be inconvenient to put delays in between buffs before a special attack, but a lot of times you want multiple commands to be initiated simultaneously. Why not put a field next to each macro line in which you may enter a delay? or just a checkbox to enable or disable a delay after that line? I really can't see a reason for intentionally including this forced delay between macro lines other than to simply make macros less effective, thereby slowing players progress through the game.
Other than that, FFXIV shows great potential. Even though there are some things i miss from FFXI, there are lots of improvements.
In conclusion, please put <stpc>, <stnpc> and /target into the macro script! And no more automatic delay! Macros make playing with a controller possible.
