Perhaps rather than going after ever single bot until the end of time, they should instead focus on plugging the exploitable code that allows bots to do all the amazing tricks they can do.

I would still love to know how so many of them manage to get onto the full, locked servers so very often and in such huge numbers. Just as I would love to know how RMT knew how to send my character a tell within one second of its creation (if that).

Oh that's easy, Player Search. The tool that allows people to find you and send you tells/friend requests no matter where you are in relation to them.

Yes, I've used Player Search for legitimate reasons. And I can tell you the odds of finding a new character within a half second of them entering the introductory cut-scene via the player search tool is next to nil.

The sound effect for the tell played before the video even faded into view. And that's happened more than once on my new characters.

If you're in a loading screen, you're technically in the game and findable.
They're using scripts to access the UI faster than you could do by hand, most likely.

I've only ever legitimately had to use the player search one time--and that was to find a person I knew was already in the game by their player name so I could friend them.
I'm sure there is a better way to accomplish that.
