Role Swap in Dungeons

I hope its never been mentioned and that I am not repeating myself.

1) When running a dungeon and a tank or healer quits (something we have all experienced). I think it would be a great feature to then be able to swap from my DPS and into that missing role. That way the dungeon could continue while we wait for a replacement as DPS in my experience is an easier spot to fill.

2) When starting a raid or tower through DF, (I main heals), I would love this option to be put into place before the instance begins. A one time option to switch, locked into the roles you qued as of course, similar to a ready check. Sometimes I start and find that both of us are WHM and often find myself thinking, "Should have qued as SCH." This would also help balance out DPS as some roles compliment each other quite well. An all DRG party? Switch to BRD.

What do you think, is this possible?

I can't remember if it was ever possible in version 1.0, but from what I understand SE did it this way in ARR to stop 'Job favouritism' and players demanding party members have all Jobs levelled 'just in case we need you to change to another role'. It would also muck up how the Duty Finder creates parties - given the fact the DF usually requires a specific party formation in each dungeon, raid or trial (of course, premade parties are not restricted in this way).

So I really don't think SE would ever change this - I'm pretty sure not being able to change class or Job in mid battle is here to stay I'm afraid.

I had never considered that to be honest, I enjoy the grind and levelling all classes to 50, that does not mean everyone does. This would simply add unnecessary pressure to the DF to have all done across the board.

Now that I think about it Enkidoh is correct. Not everyone wants to level all the jobs available, also since a party can now kick a player, if you don't have a class or job they want, the player is kicked.

A very good suggestion, I wish they would also let us get in without having to change class. Say you are fighting on your DPS and your Q finally pop under another class, it's often too hard to disengage to switch. Timer is very short and 30 min lockdown suck. So at least having it auto change you to the right class would be neat.
