No exp bonus for fates?

Ok so I have played for a while and never have I not gotten the +50% bonus for doing fates even if I do not have rested bonus it has not affected the bonus at the end of a fate. My new friend is not getting this bonus and getting half the exp I get when we fate grind anyone have any idea why ? He also has rested bonus so just wondering what the deal is ?

I don't believe that I have ever gotten bonus xp as a FATE reward, nor from a quest reward. I do see the bonus xp applied only when killing mobs, same with my chocobo, it only gets xp from the actual mobs and not from completion rewards.

[edit] Correction: My lower classes do get a an extra 50% xp as a FATE reward.

FATEs dont get the 50% reward, the mobs you kill within the FATE give reward. You cannot push FATE xp through rested xp except is one where you kill loads of mobs (those collect and hand in and wait till you have a stack of 99 in inventory can give you good xp that way).

the "Not your highest level class" exp are 50%.

I though the exp bonus only worked up to lv 10 and then it "normalized" as for fates the bonus exp only applies to enemies killed and normal quests don't believe it works for leve quests either

That is nice to know for Heavensward I never had the chat option on as I felt it spammed the chat too much
