I dont know if i was the only one who noticed or if this was mentioned elsewhere but what was the point of swimsuits when we can only go ankle deep in water? was it purely to appeal to the nerd-hardon? or could this possibly be an inkling of something that may come out in the future, the ability to swim. i'm hoping, but not holding my breath, that if they decide to implement a jump feature (something i dont think really adds to the game much) that they may even add the ability to swim and fight underwater.
On a side note anyone else notice its can be exceedingly difficult to see things in the dark? i know i cant play during the day because of the brightness in the room contrasting with how dark nighttime is or in an underground area. are they going to either;
A) add a feature into the game where we can adjust the brightness and contrast
or
B) will they be adding a "light" spell that creates an orb over the targets head the emanates an aura of light surrounding the target.
i miss "pointless-but-fun" abilities in video games. i may date myself by saying; remember the Quest for Glory and Hero's Quest games? there were abilities and things you could do that would make you have to be creative to solve a problem. gotta get into the mansion? try increasing your strength to break down the door, increasing your climbing skill to climb in a window, increase your lockpick skill to pick the lock, increas your hide skill to hide in the closet. getting in the place may not have had anything to do with the game but was fun. imagine an archer climbing a tree to shoot arrows at the monsters, he could avoid most AOE attacks (kinda like float vs quake).
i dont expect to see this kind of thing come about anytime soon, i realize they need to make a lot of fundamental changes before they can even think about adding content they probably already have planned but i really hope this game will be more than a hack and slash MMO. i really want some RPG to come back into this genre.
