Will GMs host in-game events again?

In case many of the newer 2.0 do not know, at the end of 1.23, when Dalamud was about to make impact (supposedly) into Eorzea, there were monsters galore (even Nael van Darnus's aetherial form reeking havoc) in Ul'dah. However during the waning hours, the GMs hosted events and helped us players at the end of 1.23 with the onslaught of monsters in Ul'dah. I can't quite remember, but I think I do remember some scenarios of GMs raising fallen players, however the cheered us on with battling chimera, Magitek Vanguards, and Garlean soldiers.

The question is from me, are GMs going to host any events if there is going to be a dramatic twist in the story? Like the "supposed" events leading up to 3.0?

Maybe they'll show up at the Battle of Ishgard?

I have yet to see one make an actual appearance in game. Those were some fun times though back in the day. Stop making me miss 1.23.
