Short write up on the NEGATIVE EFFECTS of HUNTS

I read an article by Doctore Halatali in the Journal of the Rare & Esteemed Alchemical Physicians of Uldah that says repeatedly dying and being resurrected causes some sort of brain rot and taste for human flesh!! I mean... why would they lie? I've already bought a helmet made of tin that they mentioned would ward this kind of thing off. @_@

That article was all but invalidated by the Elezen Entrepreneurial Enterprise back during the first Heavensturn of the Seventh Umbral Era! During the evil reign of the first elevation of Titan's powers, we could plainly observe all races being resurrected en masse, and not once did they turn on their fellow adventurers seething for flesh!

...they did seem to continue their propensity for chewing on rocks though...


On that note!: What we have determined is that (while not exactly brain rot) these multiple resurrections do actually accumulate over time into a detrimental personal effect that causes Debilitating Ulcers Manifested in one's Brain (EEE thought it would be easier to abbreviate this into D.U.M.B.).

You forgot one! That some hunters voluntary inflict to their bodies
The use of illegal drugs to boost their hunting performances.

Radars and poshacks

They would probably need the help of health professionals and a trip into a detoxification centre.

I heard, Gridania had such centre to help those poor souls, it's called the "Bad behaviour on A ranks and above, Natural treatment centre" or to make it short, B.A.N.

SHE'S ONTO US! Uh, I mean, what ever would make you say something as far-fetched as that?

Anyway, not to hastily move the topic back to its original track and away from this dangerous outgrowth, but I have done some research myself, and have come to the conclusion that there is no true cure. However, like many other things, when taken in moderation Hunts can actually be quite pleasant with none of the nasty side-effects listed by the OP. Which isn't to say that if you can find a group of friends willing to help you that you should abstain from Hunting, but just don't overdo it. Remember: Everything in Moderation, including Moderation.

Its been a while, but I remember a post a while ago when hunts were 1st implemented that a person who pulled early was so ostracized by the server community that s/he committed suicide. Had depression so I guess this just made things worst.

But yeah, people can be cruel when it comes to these types of things, unfortunately
