    Change to ilevel system

I was just reading about how the new GW2 expansion is going to change the game for mmos. The big deal about that is the whole progression system. It is not all that original but I like the idea of not being in a constant grind mode to keep up with the latest ilevel gear. I know it keeps people in the "game" but I would love to see a new way to level up our current gear, via using it in context with new skills that will assist in leveling the gear itself. Almost like "living" gear. The current system of constant grinding that comes to naught after anyone gets all the best gear; and then a new patch comes out that negates all that time spent, gets old after awhile. I know this isn't something that will happen soon, but I would like to suggest this for future expansions? I also wonder if anyone has thought about this?

Sounds interesting. This has me thinking of Lord of the Rings Online. That game has Legendary Items that have their own XP, lvl, and item points that would be spent on upgrading key abilities and/or stats. I liked how that even if your current legendary item wasn't the best in game, you could still level it up and spend points to make it really good. I remember keeping one of my items I worked hard on all the way into end game of the following expansion.

Now that I think of it, Like ARR when LotRO came out there was virtually no class customization, then came the first xpac, Mines of Moria, and Legendary items fixed all of that. Gives me hope for ARR's future.

I never played that mmo, but I like that idea, hopefully SE will consider these ideas for a future expansion.
