Thread: What kind of content would you like to see in a FFXIV Let's Play?

Find new andinfuriating/humorous ways to troll people in instances as healer or tank. Have a "How long before they /votekick me" timer.

I'm already planning to troll NPCs, I'd rather not anger other players. Unless they get mad at me first, in which case, the floodgates open.

I do have enough tact to not delve into harassment. I'm more snarky than anything. Besides, the best way to troll people harassing me is to stay calm. It makes them angrier.

Good editing. RPGs of any kind don't lend themselves very well to video LPs, due to the amount of time spent on repetitive tasks. This can be mitigated if you have multiple guests doing commentary, perhaps even grouped together and doing things for the purpose of showing them off (i.e. "let's go everywhere and do every single FATE!"). The quests and unique scenarios that they lead to, either one-off duties or dungeons, are where the meatier stuff is.

Otherwise, find interesting things to point out. i.e. "This is a reference to such-and-such earlier FF game" or "this thing was named after this mythological thing".

I have actually been considering opening a TS server specifically for group events like dungeons. I'm still a bit far from that though. Well, until I get out of Limsa. And I always loved pointing out references when I know them!

I'm still working on my editing skills. I'm not sure what a good program to use for it would be, and I'm far from going out and buying the best stuff, so I've been using Movie Maker. :/ Right now, my hurdle is to make my videos 16:9I may know where mistake was in the last couple I made, I had forgotten to change the game resolution to a 16:9 resolution, so going to try to get that fixed for next time.

I don't do LPs myself (because the amount of stuff they entail would burn me out too quick) but I watch 'em a fair bit...go figure, full-time-job-having adult life leaving not enough time for video games so hey, why not have the internet play 'em for me. :P

Gold standard of quality is probably Chip Cheezum's stuff on YouTube -- originally Something Awful, which itself has a whole forum for it with resources that might be worth looking into. That guy, though, puts together super-informative expositions, most recently of Platinum games with all their crazy technical intricacies.

I like Let's Plays that translate games into languages that aren't available on the game itself. Planning to start an XIV LP with Italian translations once the expansion hits, myself (Because I want to start from scratch as an Au Ra. There's already too many LPs with the current races out there). Offer something that the gaming experience itself wouldn't provide.
